I've had similar experiences, especially at one particular Filipino bakery which I no longer patronize. The ironic thing was I wasn't even buying the patries for myself but as a gift for my sister-in-law. I really appreciate your links regarding size acceptance. I think that is something that needs to be further explored within the Filipino diaspora. Sadly, I've also experienced discrimination from individuals from other ethnic and racial groups who've decided that Filipinos do not need to be respected. That’s the worst!
