Gah! I just caught “Bridget Jones’ Diary” on Star Movies and I love love love Colin Firth.

My Dream Man

He’s not super handsome but he has this pleasant, kind face and he seems really intelligent and sweet. Maybe in person he’s entirely the opposite but I’ll just stay in this dream world and like him as how he appears in most of his movies. I’ve only seen a few actually. The 2 Bridget Jones’, Love Actually, and in a few glimpses on tv when HBO was showing What A Girl Wants. *sigh* He reminds me a bit of Conan O’Brian and Tim Robbins both of whom I like a lot. But enough about this…

…I can boot up the mac now but some of the programs still don’t work. I’ll be going to Louie’s office to see if the more techy people there can help me with this.

Fixed the damn mac. Turns out that one of my memory cards is causing all the trouble. Need to take this up with the original owner. All this hassle is making me feel drained. I should be rejoicing now that I have a powermac. It was one of my dreams in the first place. But this unit is so much trouble and that’s the problem with buying second hand stuff. I swear, once I’ve paid this off with my mom and I have lots of money to spare, I will buy a brand new one. A really really really good one. Add also a powerbook to that.

Back to PC again

I am so upset right now. That’s why I was silent the whole day. But let me explain my technical problems. First, my mac would just suddenly reboot itself. It was very annoying but bearable but I couldn’t have that problem when I am already editing because my work wouldn’t get saved. So I tried to fix it by uninstalling some programs I installed earlier. Supposedly, it is easy to uninstall in Mac. You just click the application then drag it to the trash bin. But I read some advice in some forum that some erm…files are left in the hard drive and the person suggested to do a file search then delete the files related to the program you want to get rid of. Well I upgraded Quicktime and Itunes and I thought those programs caused the problem so I deleted them this way. Then erased the contents of the trashbin because the problem was still there. After a lot of forum posting to ask help with this problem and me eventually contacting the previous owner of the mac, I was able to solve it by manually cleaning the RAM/memory sticks. I was so happy when that problem disappeared and was ready to post about it here and all because I felt so macho doing such techy stuff. But, I tried opening some of the programs like Safari and Yahoo Messenger but they won’t open anymore. I think I deleted some crucial files when I uninstalled QT and Itunes. But during that time, I can still surf using firefox so I surfed around for solutions but found nothing except suggestions to install some mac utilities, most of which aren’t freeware. So I installed one program (forgot the name) then also installed Adium which is an instant messenger client, you know, since YM isn’t working anymore. Then while searching for solutions some more, Firefox crashed then the system froze. I rebooted the Mac but now there’s just a small OS X window and that’s all it does. The thing wouldn’t load anymore. I want to curse so much, especially toward the machine itself but it might act up even more. I am sometimes nicer to nonliving things. So now, I have an unusable powermac and I’m using this PC again. I took Xanor because I really need some calming up but I am still frigging agitated as well. Please, if you are knowledgable when it comes to Mac, please advice solutions. Now I am off to more troubleshooting search again.
