Back to PC again
I am so upset right now. That’s why I was silent the whole day. But let me explain my technical problems. First, my mac would just suddenly reboot itself. It was very annoying but bearable but I couldn’t have that problem when I am already editing because my work wouldn’t get saved. So I tried to fix it by uninstalling some programs I installed earlier. Supposedly, it is easy to uninstall in Mac. You just click the application then drag it to the trash bin. But I read some advice in some forum that some erm…files are left in the hard drive and the person suggested to do a file search then delete the files related to the program you want to get rid of. Well I upgraded Quicktime and Itunes and I thought those programs caused the problem so I deleted them this way. Then erased the contents of the trashbin because the problem was still there. After a lot of forum posting to ask help with this problem and me eventually contacting the previous owner of the mac, I was able to solve it by manually cleaning the RAM/memory sticks. I was so happy when that problem disappeared and was ready to post about it here and all because I felt so macho doing such techy stuff. But, I tried opening some of the programs like Safari and Yahoo Messenger but they won’t open anymore. I think I deleted some crucial files when I uninstalled QT and Itunes. But during that time, I can still surf using firefox so I surfed around for solutions but found nothing except suggestions to install some mac utilities, most of which aren’t freeware. So I installed one program (forgot the name) then also installed Adium which is an instant messenger client, you know, since YM isn’t working anymore. Then while searching for solutions some more, Firefox crashed then the system froze. I rebooted the Mac but now there’s just a small OS X window and that’s all it does. The thing wouldn’t load anymore. I want to curse so much, especially toward the machine itself but it might act up even more. I am sometimes nicer to nonliving things. So now, I have an unusable powermac and I’m using this PC again. I took Xanor because I really need some calming up but I am still frigging agitated as well. Please, if you are knowledgable when it comes to Mac, please advice solutions. Now I am off to more troubleshooting search again.

Can you still reformat it? Do you have your MAC OS installers?

Iyan din iyong isa sa mga frustrations ko nuon — uninstalling programs is tedious cause you have to manually put files in the trash, costly softwares, and the dreaded blinking mac icon during startup due to incompatibilities and such. But don’t worry, after awhile you’ll get used to your mac and you won’t encounter that much problems. Naagitate din ako nuon kapag nagkakaproblema computer ko.
A good mac help forums can be found at the mac site itself - http://discussions.info.apple.com/ When I used to go there, mababait tao duon and helpful.

Oo nga pala, tama si Pau, why don’t you reformat/reinstall the OS?

I’m sorry to hear about what you experienced. iMac or PC if problems occured, it isn’t really easy to fix if you’re not familiar with the program & installations.
On the safer side, why not bring or make an appointment with the techie dude to visit and check your machine - I’m sure its still under warranty.
If ever I got the same problem, I’ll just crash them to pieces. I mean, I’m sure the program wasn’t properly installed so it can always be fixed.
Take it easy.

Thanks everyone. I think the problem is with one of the RAM cards. I took one off, then reinstalled the OS. Now it’s okay again. Hopefully, nothing will go on anymore but I need to get that RAM exchanged since I need all the RAM I could get especially for video editing.
