Bitch and Money
I bought Bitch: In Praise of Difficult Women last night.
Jeez! In Amazon.com it only costs $6.49 (365 Philippine Pesos). Fully Booked sells it for around P 750 bucks. Rip-off but that book is in my wishlist and I really want a copy of that. Time to remove it from my wishlist. Yay? I also wanted to buy
but I’ve spent too much already.
I told my mom a long time ago that I want to own a Powerbook G4 so I could freelance as a graphic designer and as a Final Cut Pro editor. A 15 inch Powerbook costs around P160,000 here. Compared to if I buy one from the US, it will only cost me around P112,000. I really want to start working already so I could have money so I said to her that it’s okay if I get a secondhand one. I was able to find some sellers but it would still cost us around P89,000. Bummer. I hope I can convince her to get a new one from the US, Hong Kong, or even Singapore because it’s cheaper in those countries. Mom doesn’t know much about computers. She doesn’t even know how to operate one. It makes it hard to convince her that I need my own computer so that I could make a living out of it. She told me to write a feasibility study and I’ve actually started on it tonight. Hopefully, she’ll understand how important it is for me. If I have my own money, I would by one on my own but unfortunately I don’t have much so I have to rely on her.
My mom just came home from SG and.. >_< hay. New laptop made me drool.
Ang mahal nga!!! I wish Amazon had free shipping offers for International Orders, then maybe I wouldn’t mind splurging on books every once in a while.

Your mom wants a feasibility study to convince her to buy you a laptop? That’s so cute! Hehehe. It also seems very sensible and, well, fair.. Sana ganun din mom ko, pero hindi eh, so I have to save for a hundred years rin, cause I also want a powerbook (a 12″ one though.)
I think a laptop will definitely help you earn a lot of money in graphic design. Have you looked into classes in graphic design, too? Maybe your mom doesn’t understand how much money can be made using computers. I wish you the best of luck.
