pain reliever

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2005

Wow! I woke up early. Fixing my life and my guilt I guess. Anyway, am still trying to get used to this mac. It’s quite disorienting but I love it. I feel so geeky eventhough I’m duh with this computer. Woke up with muscle pains all over my body. I got this from assembling the fucking computer table. Ang hirap ha! Good thing our driver was there to help. I think the table looks stable but it makes creaking (sp?) sounds when I move the damn thing. Oh well. What else have I got to say? Nothing. So buhbye!

Virgin post

Monday, August 22nd, 2005

This is my first post coming from my baby, the 2nd hand PowerMac G4. *cheers* I still need a bit more time to get used to this but I’m getting there. Yes, siree bob.

My day was tiring. And a bit frustrating. At first, mom said she wouldn’t lend me more money to buy a monitor. But a few minutes later, she changed her mind and said she’ll lend me 10 grand (in Pesos of course) but I will have to add the rest from the money in my bank account. So I withdrew quite a lot of money because I need to buy a lot of things. What things? Well I bought the following:

LG 17″ Flatron monitor - PHP 14,200
Altec Lansing Speakers - PHP 1,700
UPS - PHP 1,700
LAN cable - PHP 530 ( I was gyped)
Surge Protector - approx PHP 223
4 Adaptors - approx PHP 130
Computer table - PHP 990 (I had to assemble it from scratch)
Computer Chair - don’t ask!
And 10 DVD-Rs for dorama trade with Gackoi

Yup. I spent sooooo much. I feel so guilty. But at the same time, I feel good. I like the things I bought and they’re very useful for my biz. I feel so spoiled and rotten but what can I do? I oftentimes loose control when I go shopping.

I think this post is a bit withdrawn. I think it’s because I’m still Mac shy.

I am getting old

Sunday, August 21st, 2005

I’m feeling restless right now. I was in hyperdrive earlier at my cousin’s birthday party. She’ll be leaving for US next year so she threw a grand party on this birthday. Gad! The place was packed with pubescent boys and girls who were very loud. Okay. I’m getting old but when I was 15, I didn’t have any social life. None at all. For me, gimmicks meant going to the mall with friends and this fucking happened so rarely like thrice in a school year. Fine, I was a total loser back then but I never heard anybody in my all-girl Catholic school throwing a party with DJ’s, catered food, professional lighting design, band set-up, fog machine, and all the works. And there’s booze involved too. Some of my cousin’s male friends have bands. There were two bands who performed actually. It was really awful. Even the sound engineer (YES! There was a sound engineer) couldn’t do anything to make the bands sound better. Cousin Paul was there and he’s like me (not into mainstream music and live an alternative lifestyle) so we sniggered the whole time while the teens shrieked to their hearts’ content. Maybe this kind of party is typical for America or Europe but not here in my third world country. By 10 PM, the place was spilling with drunken half-naked teenyboppers who could hardly walk after drinking a bottle of beer. And you know what it’s like when people are drunk, right? They get even louder. Add this to the party music being spinned. I don’t know what was going on inside my head of my uncle and aunt head when they decided to serve booze to the underage. I was a bit annoyed when some of the kids went outside and just hung out IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. Mike, a friend of my cousin Fortune, said some of the teenage boys were smoking pot OUTSIDE. I am not against pot but egads, to do that in the middle of the street, in a well-to-do neighborhood, and the village guards just a few meters away. Totally insane! *shakes head* I should have taken pictures to post here but I during that time, it’s just a waste of effort and web space.

Don’t. Feel. Like. Going. Ugh

Ugh. Feeling sluggish right now. Damn medicines. Anyway, I’m off to my cousin’s birthday bash. I just want to sleep though.

Because no one donates to me…

My own private PowerMac

Saturday, August 20th, 2005

I think it’s time to reveal my secret project #1 because I have it already. Here goes…

I loaned money from mom to buy a second hand PowerMac G4. Yes, I finally have a Mac!

lovePowerMacG4.jpg

Although it’s kinda saddening that no one donated to my cause. Hehehe. But yeah, I have one now. BUT I don’t have a monitor for it yet. I went to Megamall (ugh) to look at the LCD monitors and guage the price. My cousin was already there scouring for screen projectors but that is besides the point. I was salivating over a 17 inch LG LCD monitor and was about to buy one but the store was out of stock.

The PowerMac is Grey so I guess a Samsung grey 17″ is better. Good thing I didn’t buy that because when I told mom about the prices, she told me to buy a cheap ass monitor instead. Bummer. Another problem is where to put the Mac. My messy room has space but I have no table. Maybe I can use the itty bitty coffee table beside me but I have to hunchback whenever I use the Mac. Plus, it has this mean-looking 3-pronged UK plug which means that I have to get an adaptor for that.

Lastly, an internet connection for the unit. I bought a router tonight but I need like 17 metres of LAN cable since the unit will be in my room.

Oh no! I am not complaining. I’m praising. *me dances around with a tambourine* I can’t wait to use it! Wahoooo!

Vanity

Fucking big arse! I couldn’t find my Paula Dorf eye shadow applicator. Grrrr. I don’t want to use no cheapo brush. So this time I just used my fingers. Friggin’ finger painting. I do hope it’s just somewhere in my room which is a huge mess, I’m sure there are bugs under the bed. *deep breathing* In case you suddenly wonder where I got the money for such frivolity, I bought it years ago and it’s the “smart brush set 2″ which is a travel kit. Well, that’s the only one I can afford although I was eyeing the Bobby Bobbi Brown professional set. {fire-incarnate} discouraged me from buying that since I have no plans of becoming a make up artist. But still, it took me months to pay for that kit and now that itty bitty eye shadow applicator is gone :( I really hate this.

Good Morning!!!

Friday, August 19th, 2005

I feel so sparkling fresh and new and I haven’t even taken a bath yet. I woke up at 7am after realizing that I was talking in my sleep. And it so happens that I was sleeping in mom’s room. My sister said she saw me smiling and wanted to take a picture. Good thing it was pretty dark in there for her camera phone. Anyway, why the good mood? Maybe it has something to do with Lino Cayetano, my batchmate in UP, son of the late senator Rene Cayetano, and budding TV director for ABS CBN GMA some network. Well he was my crush for about a week during my freshie years in college. And then I got to know him a bit. But that’s not why I lost interest in him. He’s so very nice and down to earth. Really! Anyway, I really don’t know why he was in my dream but it was a happy dream so I don’t really care.

Not so good photo of Lino

Today might be a very eventful day. I might reveal one of my projects if everythings goes smoothly. So hurray. *waves frayed pompoms*

Gawd! I’m feeling so hyper. Better listen to some Current 93.

There’s nothing to post about and I’m going to sleep early tonight for a change.

Blog Fusion

Thursday, August 18th, 2005

I stumbled upon blogfusion through a banner ad in blogexplosion.

I clicked on their demo and I really liked it. From the admin dashboard, you can edit the content of the sidebar. You can also put a mini gallery and just upload them from the admin panel. If ever I’m going to switch from Wordpress, I’ll buy blogfusion. It’s not so expensive because there are options like purchasing one of the creator’s amazon wishlist or just sign up to one of those free imac minis giveaways.
