The so-called birthday party

I had a blast tonight! Good thing I went out with my friends. I forgot it was Sherwin’s birthday but I remember texting him on that date. It was like ages ago. Anyway, I thought it would only be me, Sherwin, Adi, and Adji but some of Sherwin’s foreign officemates came with him to Manila. I was surprised that they were celebrating Sherwin’s birthday and some of them even gave him gifts. For me that wasn’t a celebration since he didn’t treat us out nor did we throw the get-together for him. So we had a ridiculously expensive dinner at Bubba Gump and it the dish I ate sucked. I shared it with Adji since it was too expensive. Blah blah blah.

Then this yucky white guy friend of his became unruly because nobody would lend him a cellphone so he can call his model girl to come there. He was making a scene so I shoved him my phone just to shut him up. They wanted to hang out at Absinth but since some of us became really annoyed with his antics, we decided to separate. That was me, Adi, Adji, and Eman plus two of Sherwin’s coworkers who hated Matt’s (the obnoxious guy) guts. We hung out at Max Brenner and we were having fun just talking away. Z, a Singaporean girl, is a wild girl and Daniel, an American, is deliciously gay. So we were minding our own business when Jessica came down to us from Absinth and bitched to us, saying that we’re not real friends of Sherwin cos we separated from the group. I thought it was a joke at first so I told her “why should we feel guilty? he didn’t treat us anyway” but apparently she was serious. So kept on going on that it was Sherwin’s party and said “maybe it’s an American thing but it’s rude to do that on your friend’s birthday”. I got mad so I bitched back that I’ve known Sherwin for a long time and it’s not as if we didn’t tell him we’re just downstairs. I also told her that we (the Filipino friends) wasn’t aware that it was supposed to be a birthday thing in the first place. Well she kept on repeating that we’re not real friends blah blah blah until the others got annoyed at her too and Daniel bitched back. It went on for awhile and she said that she saw Sherwin on the way to us but stopped him since “it was his party” and she’s not saying that we should go back to Absinth with them. I thought she was going to cry then and there but she got tired eventually and went back to the bar with her friend. Daniel and I were like “Yeah right she wasn’t making us go back there. If she didn’t, why did she come down at all”. Then we made fun of her and it was wickedly good. Oh narky me. I loved that little drama and we just kept on laughing about it.

When Max Brenner closed, we want back to Absinth, except for Eman who went home. It wasn’t much fun there because the others were drunk and were making a scene. Plus it was hard to talk since there was a band playing. We should have hung out in a cafe, we would have enjoyed it more sans the unruly Americans. Matt broke a lot of glass and was really loud. Plus he was dancing hideously. The whole time, Daniel and I were making fun of him. Ugh. We also eyed some of the cute guys in the club. Twas fun.

The “party” ended when Jessica went home with this white guy they met in a cemetery earlier. Z had to go home with Tina (their Filipina coworker) and Matt because Tina couldn’t handle Matt alone. Some of us exchanged numbers and we made plans to go to Bohol and Boracay this December. Unlikely it would push through cos to me that sounds expensive. The idea is fun though.

So yeah, I had fun tonight. I was able to forget about you-know-who not messaging me. I also got to meet 2 new cool people. I like Z and Daniel a lot because they’re pretty wild. Meeting Daniel made me miss having a gay best friend. Awww.

Cute photo :-) Sounds like you had fun. Drama can be so delicious! Especially at a “party,” really perks things up.

Who was the band playing at absinth? The last band I saw there was CBI, but they weren’t loud enough because of Merk’s. Haha~ I remember the manager of Merk’s gettig pissed off because Absinth was “stealing” their customers. *lol* Cute picture btw :D

    Shabby,

It was Victoria’s band. Apparently she’s back from the dead, appropriate it being hallowe’en and all. Merk’s was closed on that night so the band can be as loud as they wanted.
