Nintendogs
I’m not much into games but Nintendogs is too cute that I want to buy a Nintendo DS just to play it. According to an LA Weekly article:
The game starts at the kennel, where you can choose from six different breeds to take home. Once there, you can name your new critter, play with it, feed it, shampoo it, blow bubbles in its face, take it for walks, furiously wave its tail around, and enter it in Frisbee competitions to earn enough money to buy food, accessories, a new house and, of course, more dogs. All this happens with a direct and engaging interface: Rather than buttons, you use a stylus to pet your puppy right on the head, scratch its belly or shake its paw, and you talk into the DS microphone to teach it tricks. Each dog has its own personality and responds to how well it’s treated.
And according to wikipedia:
Nintendogs supports two link-up methods through the built-in wireless network for Nintendo DS. A player can link his or her system up with another person who owns a copy of Nintendogs, face to face, to let the players’ puppies play together. One can also enable the link up system, called “Bark Mode”, in the game option, then close the DS. Instead of putting the DS to sleep, it will continue looking for other Nintendogs users. If another Nintendogs game in Bark Mode is detected while the DS is closed, the two systems will exchange information to be used later when gameplay is resumed.
So cute! I don’t know anyone who owns a Nintendo DS or has this game but I really want to try it just to see if buying a portable gaming console is worth it. I’m not very familiar with the DS. I think Sony’s PSP is better looking and has better capabilities but as for PSP games, the only one I could think of which could match Nintendogs is The Sims 2 for PSP.

I have a Nintendo DS and Nintendogs! Honestly, after a week the novelty wears off and I got tired of it. It’s quite repetitive kasi. I don’t play it anymore. Probably my pet dogs already run away.
I am not sure if you should buy the DS. Maybe you should look at the other game titles and see if you’re interested on some of them. Sayang kasi if you are just going to buy it for the Nintendogs baka magsawa ka din after a week or so.
If you don’t mind buying second-hand Nintendo DS to save money you could browse Bidshot.com.
Grace,
Buti na lang you warned me. Do you play other nice games in your DS? Kasi kung yung Nintendogs lang yung ok talagang di ko bibilhin yun. Sa PSP nga la atang masyadong ok na games din. I dont mind secondhand. Titingin tingin ako sa bidshot after replying :)
I only have 2 games - nintendogs and this weird game. I forgot the title. I chose Nintendo DS over the PSP kasi naisip ko kung gusto kong maglaro ng PS I should just buy PS2. I don’t usually play with my gadgets when I am out anyway. I also like the technology of the DS.
The games I am thinking to get next are the ff (I am not yet sure if it’s all available here):
- Mario Kart or Mario & Luigi: Partners in Crime
- Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrows
- Meteos
- Trauma Center: Under the Knife
- Lost in Blue
Hay naku, cute talaga iyong Nintendogs pero repetitive. Tapos namamaos pa ako kakaturo ng tricks vocally.
Ay. I want kasi portable since my TV sucks. Anyway, mas mahal ang PSP eh. I also don’t really need it. I really just want to try Nintendogs. Pati Sims 2.
Hello. :-) I love nintendogs, as well. Very cute game. There are several different breeds to choose from, as well. :-D
I’ve just one thing to ask: as a Dogrealm.net admin, I ask that you do not directly link to Dogrealm’s images, as it causes the site to exceed it’s bandwidth. Also, I might suggest putting the artists’ name under the image, though it is clear you are not stating that you drew the images yourself. ;-) Thank-you.
Removed the images from here. Sorry for that.
