Garden Gnome

I wish people in my country have garden gnomes. I keep on seeing these ceramic creatures in European films and I have mixed emotions over them. They look ugly, endearing, funny, kitsch, fiendish, and entertaining. If my neighbors have garden gnomes, I would probably steal one and put him in my garden. I know, stealing is bad but don’t worry, I’ll put the gnome back. I just want him to visit my house for awhile.

I was searching google for garden gnomes history but it pointed me to this. I’ve read through it but I still don’t know how and why ceramic gnomes became popular in Europe. Maybe not only in Europe, perhaps other continents have gnomes too. That history site explained about the history of real gnomes and I think we have an equivalent for them here in my country. They’re called “dwende” or “lamang lupa” and they’re earth elementals who protect the flora and fauna even in the city. My neighbors claims they have dwendes and I believe them. Sometimes, things in my room disappear all of a sudden and I find them in odd places (but maybe that’s just the odd me putting things in odd places).

I’m itching to buy a gnome on ebay but I have only roughly $30 left on my US bank account. Maybe a reader out there has a spare garden gnome he/she wants to dispose. I think I have enough to pay for shipping if it’s not too expensive.

Girl Chronicles

Please welcome my new blog renter, Girl Chronicles. I immediately accepted her bid request cos this chick has the kind of sense of humor I like. Just read her feature on Holiday Gift Ideas. Who’d want a Jesus action figure complete with a jug of wine, 5 loaves of bread, and 2 fish? Me! I’m not a Christian but who cares? Sadly she didn’t post a linky to where I can buy it. Surely that product isn’t available in this third world country.

Here’s another excuse to buy a Nintendo DS. Here’s a snippet of the article (courtesy of Boingboing.net)

Lapis, the blue-hued main character of a prototype video game by Heather Kelley, a designer with Ubisoft, wants to help women take a “magical pet adventure” to their “happy place.”

The prototype teaches how to reach orgasm by simulating the affect of pleasurable sensation on the cartoon. Players tickle, touch, tap, and stroke Lapis using the touch screen of the Nintendo DS, a hand-held video game device. They can also talk, sing and blow on the bunny’s fur using the device’s built-in microphone.

The more they stimulate the bunny, the happier he becomes until eventually he begins flying through the air. But Lapis is also an unpredictable creature who needs a variety of sensations. Sometimes, no amount of stimulation is going to work.

The programmer really knows what she’s doing. Personally, I don’t need this game if you know what I mean.

money

Just got back from a meeting with Phoebe. It was okay. We managed to cut our initial costing to a much lower amount so that’s good. We need to work on the business plan again though.

Moving along. I got more ebay items in the mail and the packages were sent here directly. They weren’t shipped EMS or global priority. Just regular mail. Maybe the mayor of Pasig is feeling generous this Christmas that’s why the added service. I like it a lot.

I need to start exercising again. I don’t like the new rotundity of my stomach. I’ve been eating a lot lately and it’s emotional eating. So not good. Also doesn’t help when Phoebe’s around because she’s a good eater and it’s contagious.

I guess I’m feeling much better now. I wrote back to you-know-who last night and I honestly think it was a light, friendly, honest letter. I won’t hold my breath for his reply anymore. I didn’t tell him about my disappointment, etc etc. I was adviced not to do so by another friend and I guess she’s right. I also don’t want him to feel guilty because he seems very nice, just really awful with replying to emails.

Justin was telling me earlier about the google ads on his site. He has made $35 already from it. I’m tempted to have google ads here too but it goes against my aesthetics. It will totally ruin the look of my blog and it’s already cluttered as it is. But I certainly could use the extra money. Speaking of making extra money, I’m planning to sell some stuff soon on my site. More news about his when I’ve done a couple of works already.

Lastly, check out my firefox theme. It be pimpin’. Holla!
