Spa day

Today was heavenly! I did a couple of errands early afternoon then asked my cousin if he wanted to go to a spa since we were talking about it last night. He agreed since it’s been a long time since he’s been to one. He picked me up around 4 pm then we headed to The Spa in Libis. After buying massage gift certificates for our moms (it’s mother’s day this 14th), we opted for the Coffee Rub package. That includes ground coffee bean body scrub, Swedish massage, and use of the sauna, steam room, and the hot and cold lap pools. I think the whole thing lasted for 2.5 hours and eventhough it was quite pricey, it was worth it. And hey, my shrink even suggested that I treat myself to a spa so this is justified! It was my first time in the place and I really loved the wet area and the massage room. After pampering ourselves, we had dinner at Chili’s (or is it Chilis?) and my cousin’s friend Mike followed us there. We ate a lot but that’s not surprising.

Up to now I still smell like coffee. Smells good but a bit weird. Here are some pictures of The Spa which I took with my camera phone.

Greecian statue although the whole spa’s supposed to be Thai-inspired. Still looks nice though.

    Mae,

You should because you deserve it. Spas there in the US are very expensive though. It might cost you an arm/leg/whatever body part, right? If you have the chance to go to Asia (here, Thailand, or Indonesia) you could afford to go to spas every other day.

Okay, this is so ignorant of me to ask but what kind of clothes do you have to wear in this kind of spa? Like during the massage and in the wet floor area.

    Aaron,

Pag nag graduate ka na you can afford to go to one pero in the meantime, baka may mabait kang kamaganak at ilibre ka sa spa.

    Grace,

That’s not an ignorant question cos I had no idea before as well. Dun sa The Spa, well at least nakita ko dun sa illustrated poster nila, people go about butt naked. I brought a swimsuit though. Pero nung first spa experience ko, I didn’t bring anything so I didn’t go to the wet area. Sa massage, you have the option to wear undies or not pero it’s better to go naked para di malagyan ng oil or whatever yung undies mo. Or you can bring a spare one.

[...] My cousin texted me out of the blue, inviting me to go to The Spa with him. I mulled over it for like a second or two and replied “yes.” I enjoyed my massage the last time I went there so I found it hard to resist. I was also thinking about getting a massage earlier albeit a much much cheaper kind since my shoulders were aching badly by the afternoon. I chose the sea salt body scrub - Swedish massage combo. It set me back 1,750 pesos plus tip but it was so heavenly. I think it’s really worth it. Also, I can afford it this time since I am employed and my salary is bigger than my previous jobs. I want to go there every two weeks but that’s too much indulgence. Maybe once a month or every two months will be okay.    [...]
