Pattern Paper Tuesday

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in Are We Not Femme?, I Say So

I had classes today in Basic Pattern Making so I couldn’t attend the afternoon fashion show. The class was fun even though we mostly did patterns. I think I’m quite good at it. Hmm. Note to self: buy a roll of good pattern paper because the one I used is too thin. The class ended early because Jerome Ang, one of the teachers of FIP, has a show at 7:30 PM and a lot wanted to come. I didn’t because I looked like a dirt rag. I should have worn something better for the day.

I uploaded photos of last Monday’s show here in case you’re curious.

Fashion Week

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in Around the Metro, Friends, I Say So

I had a great time tonight with Jenny and my new friend Malaine. I invited them to come with me to today’s fashion shows because the owner of FIP gave me an invite to his fashion show and he told us to bring friends. We were at the Rockwell Tent a little after 3 pm which the invite said the show would start. Good thing it started late though. For the first show, we were given good seats. Four designers presented their works and I liked Shanon Pamaong’s designs (he’s the one who gave me the invite). The other designers’ works were okay. After that show, I asked my teacher (John Herrera) if I could watch his show. He said I could but the show would start at 7PM pa.

We had more than an hour to kill time so we went to Sugar House because I wanted to eat Turtle Pie. Unfortunately, they didn’t have it. Maybe they ran out. Whatever. Each of us ordered 3 cakes. I wasn’t able to finish mine because I didn’t like my cake much. Boo! After paying, we just window shopped since we didn’t have shopping money.

A little after 5:30, we went back to the tent and just took photos of ourselves while chit chatting. It was fun.

Before 7, we got good seats again but the place was packed. Other people had to stand during the fashion show. Lucky us. The night’s designers belong to the Young Designers Guild. I loved my teacher’s creations! He’s my idol now! Haaay. Brilliant guy. I think there were 13 designers but the whole show lasted for only 30 minutes if I’m not mistaken. It was so fast. But I am inspired again. I want to be invited to join YDG someday.

I want to join Fashion Week some day. I will really study hard and I will persevere.

Time to disable some plugins

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in Bloody Hell

Stupid Wordpress plugins! I was blocked from posting IN MY OWN JOURNAL because, according to CBL (whatever that is), I have a virus, trojan, or a malware. Doi! I’m on a mac and I have an antivirus too. I use the wifi I installed in our house so maybe the virus or whatever is on the Windows computers here. Did I mention before that I hate Windows? No? Well I do especially now!

Socially Incompetent

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in Around the Metro, The Bell Jar

I just came from a goth gig somewhere in Quezon City. I had nothing to do so I went. Couldn’t find a friend who wanted to go with me so I went alone. It was okay although I felt so alone around 1 am so I left. Everybody there was with friends and most knew one another. I only know 2 persons there and they were with some people so they only talked to me briefly. I wasn’t expecting them to hang out with me. I just want to make that clear. I’m wondering if I give off the vibes that I don’t want to meet new people. Ugh. I was hoping I would make some new friends but that didn’t happen. So after awhile I thought that I was just kidding myself and that the situation is so pathetic. Might as well leave before I really feel sorry for myself. So I did. And bought food from Mc Donald’s to console myself.

Lonely Weekend

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in Family, Friends, The Bell Jar

Life is good to me. It’s just my damn depression that’s ruining it. I invited some people from the depression mailing list to go with me to Fontana on the 31st. That should be good except that only a few will be coming. That might be awkward.

It’s the weekend again. I feel lonely when I have no plans for the weekend. Or the only plans I have involve going out with my family or relatives. I want to hang out with friends but most are out of the country. *sigh* I feel like a loser.

Anyway, I got locked out of my multiply store so I created another one. It’s at mseerie.multiply.com in case you want to check it out.

Boracay

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in General

Hmm I guess I forgot to mention last week that I’ll be going to Boracay. Whatevs since I’m back. I left last Saturday and got back Tuesday late afternoon. Boracay was okay. Sometimes fun but I wasn’t expecting much since this trip is just with old relatives (mom and some aunts). I didn’t do much swimming though. I went snorkling for an hour, maybe less. I tried to get a tan but I ended up with a sunburn.

We stayed at Fairways and Bluewater. It’s nice and sprawling but it’s far from the long beach. We got a 3-bedroom unit but there were only 4 of us so we had a lot of space to avoid each other. The bedrooms had a private bath, cable TV, and A/C. Bliss. The unit also has a kitchen, dining room, living room, and a balcony. We didn’t have a view of the ocean. Instead, the unit faced the golf course.

Fairways & Bluewater

Cable TV in Aklan in so unfair. They have WOWOW and other interesting channels. Living in Metro Manila sucks because I’m such a tv-holic. I want my WOWOW back. Grrr.

Wowow

I haven’t been back to Boracay for 7 years I think. So many things have changed there. They have D’Mall now. There’s even D’Talipapa. Then there are more resorts, the roads are better, the airport and the dock look decent now, etc. The prices have changed too. Used to be we can eat great seafood for cheap. The shops at D’Mall are expensive too. Presyong turista talaga. It’s just too bad that even us Manilenyos are also considered as turistas.

My sister told us to not come back to Manila unless we try the shakes at Jonah’s. Good advice from her. I totally loved the Banana Choco Peanut Shake. It’s so thick, it’s a challenge to sip. I asked the waitress if they have a branch in Manila but they don’t. It’s a Boracay exclusive. Bah.

Jonah's

I want to go back to Boracay someday but I prefer to go there with friends. Hanging out with the oldies just ain’t fun.

Malan Breton

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in General

Project Runway Season 3 is currently airing on Philippine cable. I think this season is more interesting than the last one. I don’t have a favorite designer yet but the character I really like got booted out. I like Malan Breton’s vision so I cried when his exit interview was shown. Awww.
