Hana Yori Dango 1 (spoilers alert)

Friday, May 25th, 2007

I finally got to watch this series and I regret not watching it earlier but it’s now one of my favorites. HYD is based on the popular manga of the same name.

The story is basically about Makino Tsukushi, a commoner, and a group of powerful rich boys called F4. I liked it because it’s funny and the actors are very good. They’re not as beautiful as the actors in Meteor Garden, a Taiwanese drama based on the same manga, but they act better. Matsumoto Jun who plays Doumyouji Tsukasa has terrible skin but is oozing with sex appeal. Yummy boy!

I highly recommend this dorama. If you don’t feel like downloading the series, crunchyroll.com has a streaming video of the series. BTW, if you have a crunchyroll account, add me there. My nick is kareninsilver.

Feeling Abandoned

Monday, May 21st, 2007

I’ve been feeling a bit depressed since 2 weeks ago. I know how it started. I became disappointed with my class at FIP. It used to be so fun but when the new batch came and there were only 4 of us in my batch left, I felt like we were being neglected by the teachers. We had to make do with any spare space left and had to call the attention of our teachers when we’re finished with assigned tasks because they’re with the other batches. I know that sounds so immature but I feel a bit abandoned by some batchmates and the teachers. Weird but that’s how I feel. And I miss all the fun we had. The 2nd term has started 2 weeks ago and I didn’t enroll. I was going to miss a lot of classes because of the trip and I didn’t feel like continuing just yet because of the way things were going. I’ll enroll this July and while waiting, I will take up sewing there.

The depression is now affecting other aspects of my life. I’ve disappointed my mom again because I’ve become so unreliable. I’m also very disappointed with myself. I wonder how I can rise above this. *sigh*

Missing Thailand

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Ahhh. I’m back in good ol’ Pinas. I didn’t get to vote because I was out of the country during election day. I feel a bit rotten because of that. Haaay. As if voting would make a change what with rampant election frauds going on. I don’t want to think about that anymore so change topic.

It was raining the entire time we were in Thailand. Very very humid also. It was a drag going from place to place on foot so we got taxis most of the time. Bangkok has changed a lot since the last I’ve been there which was two years ago. There are more malls now. My favorite, Centralworld, was totally renovated so I thought I was at a new place the whole time I was there. The hotel, Pathumwan Princess, where we stayed looks new. I really loved the lobby but the room could be a whole lot better. I didn’t buy a lot of things but they were mostly expensive. I bought a really nice Doc Martens boots for almost $200. Spent just as much for Anna Sui and Laura Mercier make-up but I got 20% for them because I met a nice Thai girl with a discount card. Thanks, Mimi! Oh drat! I forgot to take our photo. Anyway, I was able to buy some nice and cheap undies and tops at MBK. I think that’s all I bought.

On the third day, we moved to Royal Cliff Hotel Resort in Pattaya. Nothing changed there but downtown is nicer now although still full of girly bars. We stayed in Pattaya longer so we got bored at the hotel and went downtown often. We went to a nice mall with a really nice deck facing the beach. We hung out there a lot. We also went to a spa one night but I think The Spa in the Philippines is much nicer (cheaper too!).

I love Thailand not because of the shopping although that’s nice too. What I love about the country is the people. A lot of them are really nice and gentle. Unlike in Pinas were so many ogle at you for being different. In Thailand, they don’t really care. Maybe I’m wrong but that’s how I see them. They’re also very nationalistic and they love their king so much. I wish pinoys are like that. Haaay.

BTW, I have a twitter account. Add me and I’ll add you back.

Waiting for the plane

Saturday, May 12th, 2007

I’m so glad I brought my laptop with me and super satisfied that I’m a Smart subscriber. There’s airborne access here at the airport and I have an hour and a half to kill time before we board the place. So yay! First time I was able to use my cheap AA access and it’s at the airport. I think that’s cool.

I need sleep badly. I only had an hour of forty winks last night. Went out with Phoebe again to watch that terrible film called Lucky You. It was a waste of 140 pesos. If you’re planning to watch it, don’t. The actors play poker throughout the whole film. Well, 70% of the film anyway. I don’t even understand poker at all so the film just made me confused. There’s some side story – romance between Eric Bana and Drew Barrymore – very cheesy. It’s really a waste of time.

I feel like I’ve forgotten something. If that’s so I hope it’s not important.

I hope there’s free wifi at Bangkok and Pattaya.

Ignore. Just testing a plug-in.

Hmmm. The photo is pretty hard to ignore though.

I’m so disappointed to learn that this photo of A.I. contestants Chris Richardson and Blake is shooped.

That totally destroyed my gay wishes for the two of them. Hmmp.

Leaving for Thailand

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

It’s this Saturday already but I’m not excited at all. I don’t really know why since I like Thailand. I’ll be going with my family and we’ll go to Bangkok and then Pattaya. Hmm now that I’m writing about the trip, I feel kind excited. lol me. I don’t think I’ll be able to shop much since I have a very limited budget. I’m planning to buy some things to sell back here. Or maybe not. Whatever.

I’m still thinking if I should bring my laptop with me. I’m scared that it would get stolen. But I’m sure there are cafes with free wifi there. Hmmm. Tempting. I’m also deciding if I should have my cellphone on roaming. That would cost me though. Maybe not.

Platform Upgrade

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

I just upgrade my WordPress to 2.1.3 (it was 2.0.4 before). I had to do it manually because it doesn’t seem to work with my webhost’s Fantastic. *sigh* Anyway, there are some changes like the layout of the single pages and the sidebar. The blog might be buggy due to the upgrade and I would appreciate it if you will notify me if you ever encounter one.

Spiderman Sucked (Spoiler Alert!)

Monday, May 7th, 2007

I just watched Spiderman 3 at Podium. I think it sucked. Too cheesy for me and full of cliches. It was fine during the first half and when Spidey became a fucking emo bastard but everything went downhill when he teamed up with Harry to fight Sandman and that other guy. When Harry was about to die, I wanted a gay moment between Spiderman and Harry. That would have improved the end of the film.
