One thing I miss about US is their hundreds of TV channels. I read that I can watch over the internet real time US shows if I know someone with a slingbox. Problem is, I don’t know anybody there who has one. Maybe someone out there is feeling generous and will give me free (or really cheap) access to their slingbox *ehem*. I could offer Philippine cable tv (Sky Cable or Destiny) but I don’t have a slingbox of my own. Any takers?

I found out from the Hana Yori Dango mailing list that there was a filming at Hong Kong! Lucky! I wish I was in Hong Kong during that time. I also wish they would film here! Boo hoo. The Hong Kong fans are so lucky!

Darn it! They look good together.

If I’m not mistaken, the cast is in Las Vegas right now. Fans in the US can watch the filming as long as they behave properly. *sigh*

There’s a wild rumor that a psycho killer’s loose in Rizal/Pasig area. I doubt that it’s true. Maybe that Dennis Garcia did kill somebody but the rumor on the interwebs say that he indiscriminately rapes EVERYONE. Yup! Girl, boy, bakla, tomboy, basta lahat. WTF?! I happen to know a few psychotics but they’re picky as hell. And now they’re saying that he’s a black belter, that’s why the police couldn’t capture him. I know most of the police here are incompetent but I don’t think anyone can even go to a police hq, taunt the police, then escape that easily. Especially if the police are drunk and trigger happy. That’s next to impossible. Whoever that Dennis Garcia is, his life is ruined now if this is just a smear campaign which I think is what it really is. If this is true though, the police are doing a rotten job capturing the guy.

Sometimes I envy my cousin. His writing ability in particular. Some of my friends and my relatives think he’s strange but I don’t agree with them. I think he’s gifted and he’s just not afraid to follow the norms.

Mom thinks he’s gay but I told her he isn’t. In case he is, what’s the big deal anyway? So he refuses to drive even though he has a car. He just prefers to commute or walk to wherever. That’s freedom from automotives and petrol. It’s healthy even.

My cousin is a deep thinker. He spends hours alone at cafes just writing in his journal, not an electronic one but with pen and paper. Now that he posts some of his writings in multiply, I’m getting to know him more and, at the same time, realizing how shallow I am. Unlike Paul, I avoid digging deep into myself. There are so many monsters in me. I just gloss over them, peek once in awhile, then move on to the next distraction. That’s how I am. That’s how I cope. Maybe that’s wrong and I should look into all my feelings and memories but I am just not strong enough to do that. Probably in psychotherapy I can confront my numerous life issues but alone, I don’t even want to try.

So that’s why this journal is vapid now. When I started this blog, I wrote a lot about my thoughts and depressive episodes. It’s strange that I don’t mind sharing my skeletons with total strangers when in real life I’m secretive. Things have changed for me since early last year…maybe even earlier. Mostly the changes were for the better but I don’t even write about those changes. Since this blog’s traffic has increased and I’ve met other bloggers through E.B.’s or whatever, writing about personal matters will make me feel exposed. My awful livejournal experience several years ago has taught me a valuable lesson about exposing my thoughts and opinions for the whole world to see. I won’t let that happen again, especially with this domain blog.

I digressed. Several minutes ago, I was wishing that my cousin has a domain blog as well so his writings would have more audience. I changed my mind now, especially since my cousin’s writings are very personal. I’ll just let him be. As for me, I’ll keep on posting trivial things and see how it goes.

Been having too much fun at om nom nom nom

I went to the 12th Hot Air Balloon Fiesta last Sunday with Phoebe, Jef, Egg, Mark, Patrick, Anthon, Loreyn, Jet, Kate, and our driver Arman. Got sunburned and drained but twas worth it all even if I have to spend a day recuperating. I didn’t have any sleep the night before because my friends came over early and we left at 3am. I wanted to kick them out but it was already too late. Hehe. Click the photo below to get to the album.

Dear Friends,

Here’s a short write-up that Jun Lozada wrote sometime in October. He wanted me to disseminate it without attribution. I believe he was motivated both by his genuine concern for a beleaguered friend who was being maligned no end, and his desire, even then, for the truth to somehow surface. He left it up to me as to how and when to disseminate it.

I did not find any compelling reason to get it out then. But now that Jun has told it all, and Neri is being invited back to testify, I believe the public deserves to know what was (and maybe still is) in the mind of Neri – at least from the point of view of a friend. I’m sure Jun will not mind.

Let’s get this out in the open.

What is Neri afraid to say and Why?

Many speculations have been made as to what Neri knows about the ZTE-NBN most particularly the direct involvement of Pres. Gloria Arroyo in this abominable affair. After his damaging “Sec. May 200 ka dito” demolition of Abalos, the discredited former Comelec Chairman, many were  left disappointed when Neri  suddenly clamped up when the Senators started asking him about the nature of his conversation with Arroyo, no amount of coaxing, cajoling and threats was enough to break his Code of Omerta. The question on many people’s mind was, What was Neri trying to protect when he repeatedly invoked “Executive Priviledge” during that gruelling 12 hour Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on live television?
We have known the Truth all along as one of the few people that Neri confided his predicament during those fateful days of April 2006, and how he wanted to resign his post of NEDA Director General and Secretary for Socio-Economic Planning over this incident where he lost all his moral respect for Pres. Gloria Arroyo.
We are doing this document to give the public an understanding of this predicament.

What is Neri afraid to tell the public? He is afraid to tell the public that after he reported the Abalos P200 million peso bribe offer, Arroyo casually told him to ignore it and work for its recommendation for approval anyway. That when he protested that it is too controversial and may attract the wrong kind of attention from media, Arroyo retorted back “Pakulo lang ni Joey yan and his father”. When he tried to reason that it may not be accommodated in the Chinese ODA package because it has been filled up with a list of projects already,
