The Catalyst

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

I seldom talk politics here. It’s not because I am not interested in politics. I read Philippine Daily Inquirer regularly and listen to news on the AM frequency. I think I can say that I am up to that to the goings on of Philippine politics. I don’t blog about my opinion on current affairs because I choose to keep my opinions to myself. I just want to be informed.

I am breaking my silence today because of recent incidents involving Jun Lozada, the star witness of senate investigation on the ZTE-NBN deal. When Mr. Lozada returned from Hong Kong and was taken by the military, I became frightened for him. It was a relief when news broke that he was in the custody of the nuns and brothers in La Salle Greenhills. I felt pride when he finally appeared in the senate and revealed the anomalies of the NBN deal. I even wanted to go to Greenhills when him, Cory Aquino, and his other supporters held a mass for peace. Unfortunately, I was out of town on that day if I remember correctly.

His actions these past few weeks, I found annoying. It’s fine with me that he goes from school to school to urge students to protest the credibility of Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. What I don’t like is how he is being treated right now. Jun Lozada is not a celebrity. I call him the catalyst because that’s what he did. Because of him, the testimonies of JDV III gained credibility. It is also because of him that the Senate actually has a case against those involved in the ZTE-NBN deal. I just hate the blind adoration of some of the populace. There’s even a news report that his life story will be turned into a movie. Some Filipinos let themselves get carried away by emotions and I find it sad. They insist on having their photos taken with Mr. Lozada, etc. I feel that the adulation for him has overshadowed the real issue which the Filipinos should focus on.

In case readers misread what I just wrote, I am not against Jun Lozada. In fact, I admire his courage in coming out and exposing the anomalies of the deal. But please, for the love of our country, do not turn him into a celebrity. Focus on the real issues we are facing like the legitimacy of the President, the Spratleys issue, and especially the accountability of the NBN deal.

First Paid Entry (Hopefully)

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

My application to Pay Per Post finally got approved tonight. Like I said several entries ago, I need money for my Japan trip and also to pay off my terrible credit card debt. Ugh! I don’t even want to think about it. I really don’t want to be a sell-out but my income can only cover so much as of the moment.

I envy those professional bloggers who can actually buy something (and not just cheap items) from blogging. I don’t think it’s easy but some of them make it look so effortless. Hmm…actually even some non-pro bloggers I know have earned something from their blogs. If I’m not mistaken, LA has earned enough to buy an ipod touch (how much are those anyway?). If I generate enough money, there are my priorities:

  1. Pay off that goddamn credit card debt
  2. Save up for shopping money in Japan
  3. Save blogging money to buy another ball jointed doll and I want a female one this time.

Well, that’s it so far. I don’t want my list to be long because that might jinx everything. But yeah, Pay Per Post, I am counting on you!

Oops. I forgot this requisite link. blog ethics

Damnit! Am I even doing this correctly?!

CSS Sucks

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

I need help with my theme’s CSS. Whatever I do, the links in my entries won’t change color. Please halp me! Actually I’m sick of the theme but I don’t want to mess up the blog by making another one.

Alarmed

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

I’m worried for Brian Gorrell. His latest entry is alarming :(

I woke up this morning ready to post my next entry to the blog.

I’m having some problems though.

I had visitors this morning at seven thirty.

Private Investigators from the Philippine’s Consulate in Sydney.

With them, was four Federal Australian police officers.

They also took my computer.

I have been questioned and cautioned. Spent three hours trembling. Hysterical inside.

I have turned off my Facebook for the time being. Friends can reach me at my private yahoo.

Can’t read the death threats anymore,

I asked the officials to challenge the blogs content for its accuracy.

Free speach I said.

My lawyer is pricey.

I have a VERY good lawyer.

Thanks DJ. Thanks for ruining my life.
I am going into hiding now, because I can hardly stand what has happened to me.
But my other computer is coming with me.

Thanks Celine.
You would have me in jail instead getting DJ to give me back my money.

I am questioning everything now.

Who will fuck me over next you guys? You took my money DJ. And now you would have me dead before paying it back.

Why?

How could you do this?

Fuck! I hope he’s okay. And what’s with chikatime undergoing renovation? I don’t believe their claim that they’re doing so because nobody goes to their site anymore. If anything, their site has more visitors since the expose.

Lomofy

I was googling for Russian cameras when I stumbled upon a tutorial on how to make digital photos look like they were taken with a Lomo LC-A camera. So I loaded my trusty Photoshop and tried the tutorial on one of my most recent shots.

The original photo

After a bit of tweaking, here is the result.

Is very nice, eh?

You can try it with your own photos. Just go to the tutorial at Digital Photography School.

Hacked?

Is the blog of Brian Gorrell down? I was reading it earlier and now I keep on getting errors when I try to access it. Could this be the work of DJ Montano and friends? I’m having withdrawals right now.

The Dirty Lives of Manila’s Socialites

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

Poor Gucci Gang. The internet is abuzz over the revelations of Brian Gorrell, a spurned lover of DJ Montano. Now he’s traumatized and heartbroken so now he’s airing the Gucci Gang’s dirty laundries especially DJ’s and Celine Lopez’s. The two must be having simultaneous panic attacks right now. If you want the sordid details, head over to Brian’s blog. He said that he’s going to write a list of nasty things about Gucci Gang. Goddess have mercy on their alleged coke-clogged souls.

I love this chika. I don’t know why. I don’t even know those people. I thought DJ Montano was deejay at first. This chika interest of mine is all Kitty Go’s fault. If it weren’t for her books, I won’t give these people any attention. I’m sure they thrive on it already so way add more juice to their ego? I can’t help it because it’s dirty and mean. It’s so Gossip Girl! Anyway, if you are also into chika, http://www.chikatime.com/ is a treasure trove.

Lithium

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

I went to my shrink last night at 9PM. Yes, PM. I think my doctor is good but it’s a big pain in the ass when it comes to scheduling an appointment with him. Anyway, he said that I do seem a whole lot better but not totally normal yet. I agree with him because I can feel it. I’m already taking the maximum dosage for Efexor. He wants me back on lithium to boost the effects of my anti-depressant. I’m scared of lithium. I really am. I read that if I accidentally overdose on it, I can die or have brain damage. Fucking scary! I know I said entries ago that I want to die but I don’t want that for me anymore. I hope the doctor will be able to find an alternative to lithium. He’s thinking of increasing my Efexor even if I’m already maxed but I think this is better than taking lithium.
