Get well soon, Elmer
Yesterday was really bad. I had to rush my cat Elmer to the vet when our maid told me that he vomited a lot. He hasn’t been feeling well since last week. We thought it was nothing much so we just gave him vitamins thinking that he’ll be in the pink of health soon. He wasn’t getting better though. My mother took him to the vet Sunday afternoon and they x-rayed him. The result showed that he has hairballs he couldn’t expel. He couldn’t even pee nor poop so the toxins are stuck inside his little body. The vet told her to make him ingest castor oil and let him play outside. That’s what we did but he was weak and didn’t even play. But we thought the castor oil wasn’t working yet.
The emergency. I didn’t know his condition was severe until the vet told me that he has 50/50 chance of living. That’s when I broke down. I was so shocked. The vet put him on dextrose since he wasn’t eating anymore. I didn’t want to leave but I couldn’t do anything there. I cried so much when I got home then slept until 7 am this morning. I called the vet as soon as I woke up and they reported that he’s eating again and was able to excrete last night. I visited him before I went to the office. He looked better but was still weak. Then I got the good news this afternoon that most of the hairballs are gone and we can possibly take him home tomorrow or Thursday. I dropped by in the afternoon after work. Elmer began eating when I showed up but he ignored me. He looked healthier and I hope his recovery will continue. I’ll be so devastated if he dies.
I love you, Elmer. Get well soon!

I’m glad he’s recovering well. ^_^ I think I’d die if anything were to happen to my pets. -_-
Me too. Really really really glad. Haaaay. They’re like my babies na.
Kitty cat <3 Glad he’s ok. What a cutie.
Thanks, Helger!
I’m glad he is getting better :-( . Do you let your cats play out side ba (like in your garden)? They eat grasses kasi once in awhile so they could vomit and that helps in expelling the hairballs.
Atsaka nga pala, they need fiber and help in grooming their furs. I hope he’ll fully recover!
It’s good to hear he’s recovering! Kitteh lurve all around!
that’s great news. ang cute pa naman ni elmer! hope he gets a lot better soon! :)
Grace - we let our cats out but before he got sick Elmer just slept inside the house all day so di sya nakakakain ng grass. So now we need to make him go outside and exercise. Expensive lesson for us but I’m just so glad that he’s ok.
@Joiz - thanks bebeh :)
@Kate - awwww thanks!!!
