STFU Bong Revilla
I wrote this rant last May 19, 2009 in WriteBite.
I am a Filipina living in the Philippines. I didn’t find Baldwin’s joke insulting at all. Mail-Order-Brides are a dime a dozen here so it’s not like what Baldwin said is all made up. Besides, he meant it as a joke! Jesus Christ, there are so many overly sensitive Filipinos and there are already calls to boycott “30 Rock”. They’re the ones who are giving the Philippines a bad name, not Baldwin! Are the Russians protesting his remark? Hell no! They have a better sense of humor than us. I suspect Revilla has plans to run this coming election (2010). He’s making a lot of noise and that’s what they are…NOISE!

For starters, if you do really “love” your country, you would certainly feel disdain for whoever makes such a rash joke about your own people.
From what I know, Revilla is one who stands against discrimination. You wouldn’t notice that because you are obviously one who is so caught up with what you only watch on TV.
For goodness sake, how can one sit back and relax when someone like Alec Baldwin used the name of the Filipinos “to be funny.” Like he said, he expected such reaction after his remark. It wasn’t stupid for Revilla. But I guess it was stupid for Baldwin to joke about in the first place, when he really knew what he would get for it.
It’s such a shame that you as a Filipino, would actually “laugh” at such joke.
If I should remind you, Alec Baldwin is from a superpower nation that has raped this country, a lot of times. And it definitely doesn’t give me any reason to bow my head and snicker at this.
Btw, Senator Loren Legarda also reacted with bitterness to this “joke.” Why is Senator Revilla the only one who’s being in the limelight for his remark?
Prior to what deviant_cart just say alec baldwin cannot justify hiself for apologizing to all filipinos and i was having a hard time to understand why some filipinos were trying to support alec baldwin
