Rejuvenating the body and soul at Nurture Spa Village
I first heard about Nurture Spa Village from my mom and she said that it’s really beautiful there. I got to see it for myself last week when I was invited to attend their relaunch.
Nurture Spa Village is truly an amazing place. I don’t know how big the entire lot is but it is expansive and they have a new range of services and facilities to meet the increasing demand of medical tourism in our country. They now have a swimming pool, a pavilion for events, more deluxe rooms, and new treatments using international spa and facial brands BIODROGA and ALGOTHERM. Nurture Spa also tied up with experts to enhance their services: Tanglad Bistro for healthy yet delicious food, Institute of Natural Healing under Dr. Sam Dizon for its alternative and complimentary medicine programs, Healthway Clinics for its Executive Check up Programs and Brahma Kumaris for meditation and lifestyle counseling.
The owners, Mike Turvill and wife Cathy, are professionally trained abroad. They also own two spa related companies: Spa Essentials, a supplier of spa and hotel products to five star spas and resorts, and Spa Professionals International Development Center, the only internationally accredited spa school in the Philippines which offers spa training and consultancy services. Cathy is also the President of PhilWell (Philippine Wellness and Spa Association),formerly Spa Association of the Philippines, and is a Board member of the Asia Pacific Spa and Wellness Coalition and HEAL Philippines (Health Alliance of the Philippines). The husband and wife team were very gracious and accommodating to me and I felt well taken care of during my overnight stay. They are very down-to-earth and knows how to give back to local communities. In fact, all of their employees are residents of Tagaytay or nearby areas. The Turvills trains them and the staff are encouraged to adapt a wellness lifestyle in order to lead healthier and happier lives. Even their massage oils and other products are sourced locally as much as possible. Part of the sales of Amuin, their trademark massage oil, are used to improve the lives of essential oil producing communities.
Nurture Spa Village, one of the pioneers of the spa industry in the Philippines, was recently named one of the 28 Most Relaxing Spas in Asia by CNN Go and one of the Top Seven Spas of the Philippines by Asia Spa Magazine, a Hongkong based luxury magazine. So you can imagine how wonderful my experience there was. I had a blissful massage, a restful sleep in one of the rooms, a rejuvenating try at Qi Gong, and wonderful meals. I was indeed nurtured there and now I can agree with mom that it really is beautiful there.
If you need a break from hectic city life, give Nurture Spa Village a try. It’s just a few hours drive from Metro Manila.
