I am still at shock. I just learned that Alexander McQueen passed away. The news says he committed suicide.
British fashion designer Alexander McQueen has been found dead after taking his own life.
The 40-year-old committed suicide just days after the death of his mother, Joyce.
His death also comes just three years after his close friend, Isabella Blow – who plucked him from obscurity and helped him become a star – killed herself.
McQueen was found at his luxury flat in Green Park, central London. An ambulance was called to the address at 10.20am. It is believed he hanged himself.
A source at McQueen’s office this afternoon confirmed his death, saying: ‘It is a tragic loss. We are not making a comment at this time out of respect for the McQueen family.’
His death comes just days before the start of London Fashion Week and weeks before he was due to unveil his new collection at Paris Fashion Week on March 9.

Alexander is one of my fashion heroes. Who could forget his daring creations?

Goodbye, Alexander. I wish you didn’t go away so soon…

One of my favorite directors just died. He brought us so many treasures back in the 80’s: Pretty In Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful, Ferris Bueller…some of my favorites up to now. Rest in peace, John.
Been blogging about death a lot lately. Hmmm

I wrote this rant last May 19, 2009 in WriteBite.
I am a Filipina living in the Philippines. I didn’t find Baldwin’s joke insulting at all. Mail-Order-Brides are a dime a dozen here so it’s not like what Baldwin said is all made up. Besides, he meant it as a joke! Jesus Christ, there are so many overly sensitive Filipinos and there are already calls to boycott “30 Rock”. They’re the ones who are giving the Philippines a bad name, not Baldwin! Are the Russians protesting his remark? Hell no! They have a better sense of humor than us. I suspect Revilla has plans to run this coming election (2010). He’s making a lot of noise and that’s what they are…NOISE!

I was only supposed to test my mic but it turned into a podcast. It wasn’t supposed to be released but I loved it and I think it’s better than the real podcast we did. It was just me, Rain, and J but we covered many topics.
I quote J:
- Dementia as Plurk Celeb
- A topic that will remain unpublished online, but its showbiz-related
- What Karen does every day
- How Karen goes to work
- Karen’s FTW mic
Movies:
- Caligula
- Baise Moi
- Twilight
- Let The Right One In
Geckos. For realz.
Listen to the podcast here and tell me what you think!

Don’t ask why I agreed to it and ended up buying a Logitech USB headset just for this. Just head on over to Rain’s website and listen to the damn thing. It’s kinda snore-inducing but don’t take my word for it.
Topics covered were:
- Earth Hour
- Plurk, and
- IE8
- http://everyone.islone.ly/
- HK Racist Writer Disses On Filipinos, Ownership of Spratlys (http://hk-magazine.com/feature/war-home)
- NIN in Manila, the August concert
- UP Fair violence
I prefer the instant podcast we did the other night but it’s not for public consumption. No, there is no live sex. Just saying.

According to Donya Victorina blog, the brains behind the infamous chikatime blog is bryanboy. I was shocked when I read the blog entry. I probably shouldn’t be surprised though since a lot of the people mentioned in chikatime Bryan knew personally. Am I outraged that it was him behind it? Hell no! I enjoyed the gossip blog and I’m still thankful it existed. Maybe Bryan should have been more transparent if it was really his blog but life is cheap in Las Islas Filipinas and he stepped on the toes of a lot of big names. No wonder he had to hide his identity. I suggest that Bryan should hire a full time bodyguard whether the revelation is true or not. Bryan, stay safe.

I was shocked when I saw her recent photos but unlike most of you, I think she still looks great. My only gripe is she can easily shed her extra weight since she’s rich enough to have a trainer 24/7 or have a weight-loss surgery done. Just look at Janet Jackson and Britney Spears now! Ordinary people like us don’t have that luxury. Hmmp.

I learned from my friend Mads that Lee Eon is dead. He died last night from a motorcycle accident when he crashed into a guardrail. I loved his character in Coffee Prince and this news came as a big shocker. If there’s going to be a Coffee Prince 2, it just won’t be the same without him. Rest in peace, Lee Eon. You will be missed.

Boo! I’m so behind the times. I just found out that Chikatime.com was shut down by the NBI. If you’re as clueless as me, head over to Jenni Epperson’s multiply site to know how she was able to do it. I love dirty gossip and I won’t apologize for it.
