Don’t wanna be no scientologist!

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in Extraordinary

FUCKING A!!!!!!!!!! ROFL. Some Filipino IM-ed me after seeing my post in pinoyexchange where I was asking for psychotherapist recommendations. So he (or she?) messaged me and recommended me to go see a certain Al Montero. I told him that I already have a therapist and he said ’sayang iba kasi dianetics’. Wait. I’ll just paste the IM log here. I just find it too funny.

dementia (8/13/2005 4:59:51 PM): i have a therapist now though

dementia (8/13/2005 5:02:31 PM): not interested. buhbye

Too bad I couldn’t recover the first couple of messages. But anyway, I put that person in ignore. Too effing funny man. You should check out the link he gave. Fucking creepo. When I saw the page, I was tempted to talk on the phone with him just to hear the crap he would spew out but I had a feeling that I would just keep on laughing (or that I might get hypnotized with their theta and alien shit) so I just said buhbye. Gawd. I didn’t know there were Filipino scientologists. Must be crazed Tom Cruise fans.

UPDATE
Turns out asl777kit is a she. SHE PM-ed me in Pinoyexchange and said

I can’t believe it! I stumbled upon a fellow UP CAST (UP Cinema Arts Society) member. Seeing the pictures in his posts brought back memories of my days in UP and how it was like in the organization. I remember the fun we had back then. *sigh* I don’t want to be nostalgic but I can’t help it. I thought UP CAST isn’t active anymore but I just found out that it’s very much alive. I smell a UP CAST reunion coming up. Anyway, I saw his site listed at Pinoy Top Blogs because I was checking the *ehem* competitions. I whored myself and joined it so if you like this blog, vote for me by clicking the button on the sidebar.

I had a couple hours of sleep again. I woke up shivering and feeling very cold. I turned the fan on at full blast and directed it to me. I often do this but it’s the first time I felt that chilled. Very odd. I couldn’t sleep after that eventhough I really wanted to. My mind just suddenly went into hyperdrive and I didn’t want to take Melatonin again.

I’ve been in this zombie state the whole day but I still drove the car to Greenhills for a family dinner. Mom hates driving during weekends so she asked me to drive. I just couldn’t say no. We didn’t meet any accidents but I forgot to take the parking ticket from the attendant. I just drove on and looked for a space. Then while we were walking towards the restos, I couldn’t recall if I took a ticket or not. Mom couldn’t remember either but I just assumed that I left the ticket in the car. It turns out that I really forgot to take the ticket. Good thing the attendant took note and kept the ticket for us. Otherwise, we would have to pay 150 pesos. Eek.

The dinner was good. Some of my relatives were there too. We ate at Bizu which is a really nice patisserie/cafe although quite expensive. After dinner we had some coffee at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf which is my favorite coffee place because of their The Ultimate Mocha. A lot of people were just hanging around which is uncommon for a Sunday night. It turns out that there’s no work tomorrow because the President will give her State of the Nation Address. We were there for a couple of hours, just talking and joking around. It was very pleasant and the people around us were in good moods because of the holiday. If I were a corporate slave, I would really be glad too but since I am a bum, everyday is like a holiday. Kinda.

Neil Gaiman in person

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in Extraordinary

Gaaaad! I’m so exhausted. But dammit I had a really great time.

I got to Gateway Mall a little past 10 am for the book signing. My friends and I planned to go there around 2 pm but we heard that people started lining up very early during the book signings over the weekend. On the way there, JB called and told me to hurry up because they only let the first 150 people in for the signing and he was already 130. So I speeded up and got there without getting lost although I did have to ask a number of mall people where Fully Booked is. JB and Sherwin were already in line so I was able to squeeze in without the other people noticing. We had to wait for two hours before we got a number stub but we were still lucky because a lot of people didn’t make the cut. It was torture and a lot of people were losing temper. Fans who didn’t have a book pass can only have 1 book signed but Val Piramide, my org mate, works for Gateway and gave me a book pass. After we got our numbers, we were free to do whatever we wanted but we had to go back my 3 pm and line up again. So we had lunch and killed time by looking at lame things. We went back to Fully Booked before 3 pm because we didn’t have anything better to do. We passed the time being crazy and made lots of friends with the others in line. It was fun but there would be instances when we got so bored. Sherwin wanted to buy a deck of cards but I didn’t feel like playing ‘tong-its’. I preferred to listen to my music on my mp3 player. We also made bets as to what time we’ll get to have our books signed. It also got quite hot. I think the mall turned off the aircon in that area. We saw other people we know like Zenon, Johanne, and Rachel who unfortunately got there too late. It was 7 o’clock when we reached Gaiman. It was exciting for everyone. Our new friend Nick was even shivering. When it was my turn to have my book signed, I was too tired to talk much so I just said hi to Neil and asked if he could draw a rat for me. He said sure then signed my other book. He thanked me for coming but I don’t remember if I replied. I think I just smiled. We compared books when we came out of Fully Booked. My new friends and JB went home. Sherwin invited me to hang out with him, Adi, and Adji but I was so tired that I wanted to go home…so I did.

Blech! My account of what happened sucks. Whatever. I really had fun and I really should go out more often. I’m very happy with the new friends I made and I really missed hanging out with Sherwin and JB. They’re really fun to be with.

My 7 days in Thailand

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in Extraordinary, Family

Thais have a place in my heart now. They look like Filipinos but their attitude is much much different. They are friendly, happy-go-lucky, sincere, patient, loving, charming, spiritual, happy, etc. They have pride in their country, culture, and people. They never bothered nor insulted me about my size. I don’t understand their language so there might have been instances of ridicule but I doubt it. I never felt any hostility from them, unlike the crap from my fellow Filipinos. I felt beautiful there. I noticed some whites and Thais eyeing me. I don’t get that reaction here. Now I am back to being ugly and I honestly don’t think I am.

We stayed for 4 days at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort in Pattaya, a 2-hour ride from Bangkok. Pattaya is ugly, it’s like Ermita or Olongapo with its red light district and stinking streets. The resort was a dream though. It’s so huge and beautiful. It’s really an oasis. What made the resort the best for me is the service. The thais really pamper their guests and they do everything with a smile. I also had a superb spa treatment there and it was heaven. Pattaya beach is not much to look at but the hotel’s beachfront is really nice. The resort even has a lift to take the guests down to the beach. I expected the water to be dirty cos it isn’t blue unlike Koh Samui’s but it was surprisingly clean. The sand was fine as well. Also, I didn’t feel embarrassed in my bathing suit.

We stayed at Indra Regent Hotel in Bangkok for 3 days. The service kinda sucked but it’s understandable since it’s a very busy hotel. Mom had us upgrade to a suite on the 2nd day cos the regular room made her uncomfortable. For me, the hotel is so-so but not really a big disappointment after Royal Cliff’s luxury. My only complaint is the thin walls and the very loud flushing of the toilet bowls. Oh, the shops near the hotel aren’t that nice either.

Shopping. We only went to a few suggested places like MBK (didn’t like it. It’s a gigantic Greenhills), Suam Lom Night Bazaar (great but very hot), the divisoria-like eskinita near Indra Regent, Pantik Plaza (for electronics but quite expensive), Central World Plaza (more high end which I liked cos I was able to buy a kick ass Irregular Choice shoes in my size), and the shopping arcade connected to our hotel. I didn’t buy much which I expected even before I left. I saw some nice clothes and shoes which don’t come in my size. The goods are really cheap in Thailand. It’s a shopping heaven for slender people.

Tours. In Pattaya, we went to Sriracha Tiger Zoo (also has crocodiles, elephants, and camels). It was okay except for the smell and the performing animals which broke my heart. Poor dears. In Bangkok, we took the City and Temple tour which was great except that I wasn’t feeling so well. We were supposed to go to 3 temples but I stayed on the bus on the 3rd because my feet were killing me. The temples were absolutely stunning! The government buildings are impressive too!

Feet. After the tour, I decided to try foot reflexology to ease the pain. I went to the massage place near Indra Regent. I chose the 300 baht foot reflexology and it was so great! A guy did the reflexology which surprised me a bit since there were a lot of female masseuse there. I was a bit embarrassed because I kinda felt I was treating Thais badly by making them pamper me. I also felt conscious because I was wearing a skirt (I think the guy saw my panty) and the fact that I have huge feet. I was expecting reflexology to be painful but it wasn’t. It felt really nice especially when they put a mentholated cream on my legs and feet. Things took a bizzare turn when the guy started to massage my upper thighs. I was observing the other customers and I didn’t see them get that massage. I remember thinking during that time that this Thai boy’s turning me on and I haven’t been touched as intimately as that for a long time. After the legs, I thought the session was over so I drank the complimentary hot tea, stood up, and thanked him. The masseuse told me to sit on his short stool though. I was stunned but I eventually sat there. He then massaged my shoulders, back, neck, and temples. I was really stiff since that was so unexpected. Other customers I saw leaving didn’t have that treatment. I was really pleased so when I finally stood up and paid my bill, I gave the boy a 100 baht tip. This incident made me yearn for a special guy who would treat me that nicely. I even cried on the last night because I felt that my special guy might be in Thailand. I also cried because I didn’t want to go back to being ugly again.

So there you have it. My Thailand experience. I have so much things to say right now. Recent developments in my life have left me feeling shattered but I said that my next entry will be about Thailand so I did just that. One step at a time, dementia. One step at a time and everything will be alright.
