I just hate the limitations of Mac sometimes. Well that hardly happens except for subtitling applications. I’m a part of Japan-TV fansubbers and I mostly do quality checks. That involves correcting grammar, spelling, timing, etc. Right now I’m QC-ing Hana Yori Dango and it’s one of my favorite doramas. I really want to QC it properly to do the dorama justice but how can I do that when most of the subtitler apps for Mac just fucks up the files! I need a decent substitute for Advanced Substation Alpha (which only runs in Windows) but I couldn’t find any. I’ve tried Jubler and it just messed up the timing. I also tried Miyu but it doesn’t read .ass files. It’s so frustrating. My only option, at least that I know of, is to edit using an HTML editor. I couldn’t check if the timing’s correct through that. *sigh*

I’m so glad I brought my laptop with me and super satisfied that I’m a Smart subscriber. There’s airborne access here at the airport and I have an hour and a half to kill time before we board the place. So yay! First time I was able to use my cheap AA access and it’s at the airport. I think that’s cool.

I need sleep badly. I only had an hour of forty winks last night. Went out with Phoebe again to watch that terrible film called Lucky You. It was a waste of 140 pesos. If you’re planning to watch it, don’t. The actors play poker throughout the whole film. Well, 70% of the film anyway. I don’t even understand poker at all so the film just made me confused. There’s some side story - romance between Eric Bana and Drew Barrymore - very cheesy. It’s really a waste of time.

I feel like I’ve forgotten something. If that’s so I hope it’s not important.

I hope there’s free wifi at Bangkok and Pattaya.

I just upgrade my Wordpress to 2.1.3 (it was 2.0.4 before). I had to do it manually because it doesn’t seem to work with my webhost’s Fantastic. *sigh* Anyway, there are some changes like the layout of the single pages and the sidebar. The blog might be buggy due to the upgrade and I would appreciate it if you will notify me if you ever encounter one.

I’m a happy Addict Mobile/Smart subscriber! I never had any problems with them before but now I love them. I was reading Philippine Daily Inquirer earlier today when I saw their ad about the 99 pesos a month unlimited Airborne Access for Smart Gold/Addict subscribers. Unlimited! Wi-Fi! For cheap! What more can I ask for. I’m happy I never actually got a subscription to Airborne Access because I would end up spending so much more. Happy happy joy joy!

I’m usually not into Nokia phones but if I’m going to upgrade my K750i, I’m considering getting the Nokia 7373.

Very pretty! I especially like the pearls and the charms. The special edition L’amour phone was designed by Giambattista Valli and will be launched during Paris Fashion Week. It’s possible that this won’t be available in Asia but I bet some units will be smuggled in our shores. The 7373 also comes in black. I like it too.

Nothing much to write about. I’ve been badly neglecting this blog. Tsk. I’ll try to write more often but nothing much is happening in my life. At least nothing interesting to write about.

Anyhoooo, I hurt my right arm last Monday so I was in pain for several days. I’m not sure what really caused it but I suspect it’s my ridiculously heavy bag. I bring it everywhere with me and it’s messy inside as hell. I’m not even sure what’s inside anymore. The contents as I recall:

• Small Moleskine notebook (yeah, I’m pretentious)
• Hairbrush
• Long wallet heavy with coins, not paper bills
• Small wallet (the Anna Sui I won from yahoo japan!) with emergency money and some credit cards
• Benefit Glamourette
• Parker pen for more pretention
• A regular gel pen
• Valda Pastilles
• Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer
• Foldable fan
• Numerous lipsticks
• Jim Thompson mirror I bought from my trip in Thailand
• My small Nanette Lepore perfume
• Small bottle of Tylenol
• My cellphone
• Anna Sui sunglasses with case

I think that’s it. Not much so much so I have no idea why it’s so heavy. My mom has more stuff in her bag but it’s not as heavy as mine. I’m sure it’s not the bag itself cos whatever bag I use regardless of material and weight, the whole thing is just heavier than normal.

My arm is kinda okay now after having it massaged by a professional masseuse but now my left arm is beginning to act up. Ugh.

I was watching tv last night, I think it was an E! Entertainment show, and it was mentioned that Heathers 2 is in the works. Hurray! I loved Heathers and I can’t wait for this sequel. According to Entertainment Wise, Christian Slater and Wynona Rider have already signed up for the movie. Also, the original director, Daniel Walters, is writing the script and might even direct it. Great. I just hope the film wouldn’t suck as most sequels do. I want to have a copy of Heathers DVD but I have too many DVDs here which I haven’t watched yet.

I’m pining for a Gloomy Bear plushie. I would even settle for knock-offs but of course, I prefer the original ones from Japan. Damn obsessions! I know that buying one is a waste of money but I love it! My friend used to sell knock-off plushies but his store has closed already. Too bad for me. Boo!

My friend decided to sell her iBook because she’s planning to get a brand new Macbook so it’s for sure that I’m getting it. She said she won’t be bringing it to the US so I can get it before she leaves on the 15th. I can’t wait! It’s only 13 inches so it’s small and lightweight and I can take it anywhere, just perfect since I’m such a net addict. I don’t know the specs of her iBook but she took really good care of it so it’s in good condition. What’s really surprising is I have enough money to pay for it. Thank goodness for early 13th month and birthday money.

Aha! My day is ending well. Alright, it’s past 2 AM but that’s really just the way I am. I like night times.

When I got back from work, mother wasn’t angry anymore. It’s like her anger was an illusion. Still, I’m glad that she mellowed down. I love my mother but I just hate her unpredictability and her temper flares.

I finally finished the lay-out of the theme. I can rest easy now. I’ve been obsessing on how to fix the glitches so while I was crapping in the bathroom, I came up with the solution. And it actually worked! Yahoo!

What a crappy day! My mom went apeshit on me this morning. What happened was, I tried to weasel off coming to work this morning and texted her to ask permission if I can come in after lunch. She asked why so I told her the truth, that I want to sleep some more. I should have just lied but my brain wasn’t functioning and couldn’t come up with a more believable excuse. Anyway, the reason why I was so sleepy is because I watched Freaks and Geeks until 2:30 am and I think I got to sleep past 3. I didn’t tell her that of course.

Back to my story.

Mom texted back that I should go to work and that the driver will pick me up. I still slept for a bit though but by 10:30, I was ready to go to work. The driver still wasn’t there so I was just in my room and took a nap. Mom and the driver got back to the house around 12:30 and she was mad as hell. She said I should have gone to the office by myself instead of waiting for the driver. I was incredulous and reasoned back that she clearly said to me that the driver would fetch me so that’s why I waited. Well, if she’s in one of those moods, there’s really no reasoning with her. She went on and on, telling me that I’m undisciplined (true), irresponsible (true), unreliable (when it comes to work, yeah), have no respect for her (true only if she’s like this), etc etc. She said that I shouldn’t have asked her if I can come in after lunch since I already know that I should always come in early especially if she’s absent from work. I told her that I was ready to go to work by 10:30 and had no plans of becoming absent. That I was still in the house because she told me that the driver would get me. She kept on saying that I should have gone by myself though. Yadda yadda yadda. I became so frustrated that I began to cry which took me by surprise. It felt weird because while I was crying, I didn’t feel like I was but the tears just kept on pouring. It’s the first time I cried since I first started taking Efexor. Maybe it does weird things to me.

The water works pissed her off even more. My sister called her on the cellphone and, since mom’s gone batty, she kept yelling at her all the time. Poor sister. By that time, I decided that I had to get out of the house because I couldn’t stand her anymore. I took my work stuff fast and took the driver with me.

Man, I hate it when mother goes batshit crazy like this. I hope that by the time I come home, she’s back to normal.

There’s too much drama in this entry so I’ll talk about Freaks and Geeks a bit. I totally loved it and I think the 2,000 plus Pesos I spent on the DVD is well worth it. I’m just disappointed that the show has only 18 episodes. I want to follow the characters more but that’s all I would get since it got cancelled after 1 season. I don’t know why but I think the people responsible for its cancellation should be stoned to death. Same goes for those who cancelled My So-Called Life. My favorite F & G characters are Nick and Sam.
