At last

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

I spent the whole day fixing the theme and at last it’s done. It turns out that the Queen theme doesn’t work with my blog for some reason. So I had to base the look I wanted on another theme but it doesn’t support widgets. In the end, I had to combine the two themes just to make the damn thing work. Lookie here for the credits. I still have to fix the front page of the site but that can wait.

New look, DVDs, art frustration, and such

Monday, October 16th, 2006

I am really getting tired of my current blog theme and I just realized that if viewed using Opera and Internet Explorer, the layout really sucks. So I decided that I will change the theme. I already saw a theme I like but I’m still asking for the owner’s permission if I can modify it. I also looked around for great graphics I could use (I have none) and found several. Hopefully, the owners will allow me to use their photographs. I will also be updating soon to Wordpress 2.0.2 (Mine is currently ver. 2). I guess the whole renovation will take a month. Hopefully.

I bought several DVDs tonight. They’re pirated I admit but they’re just copied from tv broadcasts of the shows. I’m happy with my choices though. I now have Undeclared, Oz, Entourage, Six Feet Under, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and The L Word. I’m still watching Freaks and Geeks though but I’m on the 4th DVD.

I was browsing through Deviantart.com and got frustrated because I don’t have much in my gallery. The other members there are soooo talented. I feel insecure. I want to get into photography again. Sadly for me, I don’t even have a digital camera. Muss less a digital SLR. Boo hoo. Even my relatives (except for the ones in the US) don’t have an SLR so I couldn’t borrow from anyone. I’m not sure about friends. The few close friends I have don’t own one.

I installed more WP plugins. Some of them are the following:

Freaks and Geeks

Freaks and Geeks - The Complete SeriesWoohoo! I finally got the Freaks and Geeks DVD set I ordered from Amazon last month. I was expecting it to get to me earlier but whatever. At least it’s here now. Much thanks to rained.org for sharing that it’s easier now to get shipment from Amazon. Apparently they now outsource a logistics company here in Pinas. There goes my budget. I want to order some more!

Some of the stuff I’m planning to get:

    • The Adventures of Pete and Pete 1 & 2
    • Degrassi: TNG 1 to 4
    • Degrassi Junior High: The Complete Collection
    • Entourage 1 and 2
    • Absolutely Fabulous: Complete DVD Collection

I’m beginning to love Amazon but I just wish is free or much cheaper.

    New plugins

    Friday, October 13th, 2006

I just installed a couple of wordpress plugins for this blog. Installed were the following:

    • Ultimate Tag Warrior - I don’t really know why I installed this. I just like tags.
    • Countposts - to see if my posts are being read. Just don’t know if I installed it properly
    • Buddy Cards - it conflicted with my gravatar plugin so I had to deactivate it.

Unlucky you because the content stays the same. I just added some boring features.

    WP Plugin: Google Sitemap Creator

    Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

I just installed a wordpress plugin which automatically builds a sitemap for this blog. It’s easy to install but I don’t know if it really works so I’m still testing it. The reason behind this is I’m adding my site to Google’s Webmaster Central. Google offers domain owners diagnostic tools to track the site traffic, uptime, etc. Very technical for me but I just wanted to see what it’s all about.

Something to brighten up my day in the office

    Friday, August 4th, 2006

A cutie geek just left the office. Yes, that’s right. Cute and geek. I’m planning to network the computers in this office so I’ve been calling several contractors to see if they can come up with plans to suit my budget. Well one company sent two techy guys to inspect our office and I had an instant crush on one of them. He has gorgeous eyes! I can’t help but become a bit self-conscious the whole time I was talking to them. I hope they come up with a good quotation for me so that I will choose them and he’ll come back here to install stuff. Heh.

    For her pleasure

    vibraphone

DoCoMo, a Japanese cellphone manufacturing firm, will be releasing a cellphone designed with girls in mind. The NTT P702iF comes with a built-in vibrator which can immediately turn the phone into a sex toy.

I couldn’t see the vibrator based on the picture so I’m wondering if it’s just a regular phone with a different marketing slant since most phones has a “vibrate” option. They should have built a phone with a built-in dildo instead.

Zooomr offers free Pro accounts for bloggers

    Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

I got this from Cybercafe Experiments.

Zooomr, a photo hosting site much like flickr, is offering free pro hosting accounts to bloggers who will post a picture hosted on their site. Just follow the mechanics here. If you want a pro account, you better hurry because I don’t think it will be there for long. I had to wait for several days before I can join their site because they just updated to version 2.0.

    nail art printer

    Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

this is something for us tech-savvy kikay girls. ImagiNail has come up with printer for nail fashion which allows users to print almost any design they want. You just stick your fingers in the slots and viola, instant nail art. According to the site, it can apply millions of colors so there is basically no limit to the designs you can use. It uses special coatings and cartriges which can be bought from their distributers.

I really like this one but there’s no price in their website. I’m betting that it costs a lot since most of their buyers are professional nail salons. Still, I want one!

    30 Boxes and Yahoo Plug-ins

    Wednesday, July 12th, 2006

I got tired of making a powerpoint presentation so looked hard at my Yahoo Messenger, the one of the PC. I just discovered I can install plug-ins for it. I haven’t fully explored the plug-ins available but it’s kind of neat. Not as neat as Konfabulator aka Yahoo Widgets but it’s still okay. While looking at the plug-ins, I discovered 30 boxes which is a site which acts as a remote for my flickr, upcoming, livejournal, and ical accounts. If I have buddies who are members, I can also keep track of them through it. It uses AJAX so updating is easy. The site just makes organization easier but if you have a lot of spare time, you won’t really need this site. Add me if you decide to join
