Cocks love Snatch
Saturday, September 3rd, 2005I was doing some graphics work but finished it fast. Then I got bored and remembered the snatchify tutorial I saw ages ago. Since I had nothing better to do, I decided to give it a try. I don’t remember much about the film Snatch but I know I enjoyed it. Hmmm better get a DVD of that. Anyway, my emotional state is a wreck but I can still do this.

Send your name to Pluto
Thursday, September 1st, 2005I just signed up the form because I want to be immortalized somehow. If you’re a geek like me, you might want to check this out.
NASA is preparing to send the New Horizons probe to Pluto. It will be the first earth device to get intimate with the icy planet. And you can be there too - or, at least, your name. NASA is asking everyone to send them their names, which will be attached in the space device. The New Horizons probe will be launched in January 2006 to explore Pluto and the Kuiper belt, in the outskirts of the Solar System. It is expected that the probe will return to earth in approximately 50 thousand years.
Back to PC again
Thursday, August 25th, 2005I am so upset right now. That’s why I was silent the whole day. But let me explain my technical problems. First, my mac would just suddenly reboot itself. It was very annoying but bearable but I couldn’t have that problem when I am already editing because my work wouldn’t get saved. So I tried to fix it by uninstalling some programs I installed earlier. Supposedly, it is easy to uninstall in Mac. You just click the application then drag it to the trash bin. But I read some advice in some forum that some erm…files are left in the hard drive and the person suggested to do a file search then delete the files related to the program you want to get rid of. Well I upgraded Quicktime and Itunes and I thought those programs caused the problem so I deleted them this way. Then erased the contents of the trashbin because the problem was still there. After a lot of forum posting to ask help with this problem and me eventually contacting the previous owner of the mac, I was able to solve it by manually cleaning the RAM/memory sticks. I was so happy when that problem disappeared and was ready to post about it here and all because I felt so macho doing such techy stuff. But, I tried opening some of the programs like Safari and Yahoo Messenger but they won’t open anymore. I think I deleted some crucial files when I uninstalled QT and Itunes. But during that time, I can still surf using firefox so I surfed around for solutions but found nothing except suggestions to install some mac utilities, most of which aren’t freeware. So I installed one program (forgot the name) then also installed Adium which is an instant messenger client, you know, since YM isn’t working anymore. Then while searching for solutions some more, Firefox crashed then the system froze. I rebooted the Mac but now there’s just a small OS X window and that’s all it does. The thing wouldn’t load anymore. I want to curse so much, especially toward the machine itself but it might act up even more. I am sometimes nicer to nonliving things. So now, I have an unusable powermac and I’m using this PC again. I took Xanor because I really need some calming up but I am still frigging agitated as well. Please, if you are knowledgable when it comes to Mac, please advice solutions. Now I am off to more troubleshooting search again.
My own private PowerMac
Saturday, August 20th, 2005I think it’s time to reveal my secret project #1 because I have it already. Here goes…
I loaned money from mom to buy a second hand PowerMac G4. Yes, I finally have a Mac!

Although it’s kinda saddening that no one donated to my cause. Hehehe. But yeah, I have one now. BUT I don’t have a monitor for it yet. I went to Megamall (ugh) to look at the LCD monitors and guage the price. My cousin was already there scouring for screen projectors but that is besides the point. I was salivating over a 17 inch LG LCD monitor and was about to buy one but the store was out of stock.

The PowerMac is Grey so I guess a Samsung grey 17″ is better. Good thing I didn’t buy that because when I told mom about the prices, she told me to buy a cheap ass monitor instead. Bummer. Another problem is where to put the Mac. My messy room has space but I have no table. Maybe I can use the itty bitty coffee table beside me but I have to hunchback whenever I use the Mac. Plus, it has this mean-looking 3-pronged UK plug which means that I have to get an adaptor for that.

Lastly, an internet connection for the unit. I bought a router tonight but I need like 17 metres of LAN cable since the unit will be in my room.
Oh no! I am not complaining. I’m praising. *me dances around with a tambourine* I can’t wait to use it! Wahoooo!
Blog Fusion
Thursday, August 18th, 2005I stumbled upon blogfusion through a banner ad in blogexplosion.
I clicked on their demo and I really liked it. From the admin dashboard, you can edit the content of the sidebar. You can also put a mini gallery and just upload them from the admin panel. If ever I’m going to switch from Wordpress, I’ll buy blogfusion. It’s not so expensive because there are options like purchasing one of the creator’s amazon wishlist or just sign up to one of those free imac minis giveaways.
Quick question for WP users
Wednesday, August 10th, 2005What plugin are you using for spam catching? I use Spam Karma but it eats up even bonafide comments :(
Suggestions please!

Konfabulator
Tuesday, July 26th, 2005I just discovered Konfabulator and was totally blown away. I’ve been seeing that word all over the net was never interested in looking it up until I read that it’s now for free. Free is good so I grabbed the chance. I’m still playing around with it but it looks really neat. I just hope it doesn’t eat up too much system resources. I’d uninstall it if it crashes this PC.
modblog
Friday, July 22nd, 2005I have a gazillion blogs online but I couldn’t help but open an account in modblog. I’m totally digging it. It’s easy to customize although the navigation is quite confusing. It’s very different from the livejournal platform (is this the right word?) which sucks. If you want to take a peek at my modblog site, click this. I got that design template from jibrille. I think it’s lovely.
