I am still awake. I am a person with no self control. Arghhhhh! My blog is going haywire and I don’t know what to do. I tried manually upgrading it through FTP and now Fantastico says it that from now on, I have to upgrade manually everytime. I think that sucks because upgrading manually takes a lot of time and bandwidth. So I tried removing wordpress through Fantastico but somehow I cannot remove the damn blog. It is here to haunt me! If I was able to remove it and lose all data, that will blow but starting from scratch isn’t THAT bad. Fuck you, blog! I hate you and all your fucked up coding and mysql errors. If you were a house, I would burn you down.

Ack! I’m such a geek. I tried to make a firefox search plugin for jdorama.com and was actually able to make two. It wasn’t hard but it required some analysis. Hmmm. I’m actually proud of this accomplishment but it goes to show that I have too much free time. Well, the plugins are here in case you’re a jdorama.com user or fond of doramas and japanese artists.

My next project is quite easy but I really like it. I’ve been exchanging emails with Estelle (formerly of the band Brittle Stars). It started when I wrote to shelflife asking if they know where I could find lyrics for Brittle Stars’ songs and I guess they forwarded it to Estelle and she wrote to me saying that she’ll send the lyrics of the songs I want. So I told her some songs and asked if I could post them on my website. Today, she sent the lyrics and said that it’s okay to post them. Well, I want to take this further and make a small tribute page to Brittle Stars (they’ve disbanded). I will host it here and I’m trying to decide how it looks. I’m not a good webdesigner (just look at this template! it’s messy!) so I should just stick to a simple design. I haven’t started on this project but I will soon. And I hope to actually complete this. I have a bad tendency to leave projects half-finished.

I bought myself an ipod just a few hours ago. I told myself that I wouldn’t buy one since it’s just so expensive but I succumbed to it. At first I was thinking of buying a new cellphone but it’s really impractical. I already have a good phone, too big for my taste, but at least it works, it has a good camera and even plays mp3s as ringtone. I also thought about buying a PSP (which I said I will buy rather than an mp3 player) but it’s too big to take along. There’s also no warranty here. The thing I really wanted to buy was my friend’s imac. She was only selling it for 15k pesos but she changed her mind and it’s not for sale anymore. So I bought this since I didn’t want to always lug around my portable CD player and bundles of CDs. Plus, the player keeps on running out of batteries. Ah I am rationalizing things but this iPod (the 20 GB one) looks really nice. Quite heavy but I think this is a better buy than the 4GB mini iPod. Oh, I used the money I was able to save up from the Thailand trip. I wasn’t able to shop much there since the clothes are too small for me. I really hope this iPod is worth the money. I still feel bad for spending too much.

I just read this article in engadget about Philadelphia wanting to put a city-wide WiFi access and I can’t help but feel envious. I don’t have anything capable of WiFi but I just want that option. Imagine, you can be anywhere in the city and you can connect to the net anytime you want, even from inside the bathroom. And the city wants the WiFi access to be cheap so that means the locals don’t have to pay huge sums of money to ISPs anymore. LUCKY!

i’m excited about the release of Sony’s PSP. it’s an answer to my tech prayers! it has a camera, an mp3 player, games, and it can play movies! i can only imagine the potentials of that gadget. i’ve been pining for an ipod but now that the PSP will be released soon, i don’t want to get one anymore. i wonder how much the gadget would cost…
