I should be so lucky

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

I fail at life but not in contests. I recently found out that I won in 2 contests I joined.

Out of the 80 entries in Manila Fashion Observer and Rootote‘s contest, my name was the one picked from the bowl. I send my virtual kiss to Berry, Christine Dychiao’s daughter.

The other prize I won is a tube of Dr. Jart Black Label BB Cream from Project Vanity.

So many blessings yet I feel like shit. Alas, I will finally take a psych exam tomorrow. Hopefully my luck with life will be as good as my luck with contests.

Where to find IKEA items in the Philippines

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

How I wish we have an IKEA store here. They’re not that cheap and they’re probably not built to last but I like some of the items they sell. When I went to an IKEA store in the US, I bought a down feather duvet, duvet cover, and a nice desk lamp. I wanted to buy more but as I’ve said, they’re not very cheap and some of the items they sell, furniture in particular, won’t fit the luggage. I really want the foldable desk I posted here and I’ve only seen it in IKEA. My room isn’t so big so I need space-saver furniture. Unfortunately, that table isn’t available in IKEA resellers in the Philippines but I might as well share with you where we can get IKEA stuff in our country.

Here’s a trailer.

If I’m not mistaken, Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne are included in the soundtrack. WHY, TIM, WHY?!!! I hope that isn’t the case.

Election season has begun and as Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam demonstrates in the video above, campaigning is srs bzns. I attended yesterday’s Presidential Forum organized by Philippine Daily Inquirer. I arrived late and missed half of the grilling. Still, I witnessed a lot of mudslinging, mostly aimed at Sen. Manny Villar. Frankly I was disappointed with the forum. I was expecting the questions will be answered by ALL of the Presidentiables. Instead, the moderators asked different questions per candidate. The time given per candidate was also too short so the answers didn’t really give the audience much information nor impression. The highlight for me was Sen. Jamby Madrigal. Her answers were biting but still made a lot of sense. I can tell that many were impressed with her so I’m betting the next batch of surveys will show an increase in her ratings. Perhaps she is not the dark horse? Still, I don’t think think that “mare” will become our next President.

I’m getting tired of the way my Macbook looks. Last Friday evening, I was at Fully Booked Boni High Street and saw that they have new stocks of Gelaskins. I didn’t buy because I want to check out the designs available at the Gelaskins website. I want a matching one with my iphone and ipod. Here are the ones I liked from their website.

I got this from an email Shabby forwarded to me.

The Senility Prayer

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do,
and the eyesight to tell the difference.

What I am thankful for this 2009

Monday, December 7th, 2009

This post serves as my contest entry to avalon.ph’s Moleskine Colour A Month Daily Planner Contest.

2009 is a very trying year for us Filipinos. There was the death of our beloved former president Corazon Aquino. The typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng brought so much devastation and grief and we here in Metro Manila were directly or indirectly affected. More recently, 57 people met their untimely death with a horrendous massacre. One would think that we have nothing to be thankful for but the fact is, there are many things we can.

 • I am thankful for the outpouring of love from all walks of life during Cory’s wake.
 • I am thankful that so many Filipinos were ready and willing to help the victims of the typhoons.
 • I am thankful that my friends and family weren’t severely harmed during Ondoy and Pepeng.
 • I am thankful for my successful operation.
 • I am thankful for the love and support of my friends and family.
 • I am thankful that our business is doing well.
 • I am thankful for my family’s safety and good health.
 • I am thankful that people read my blogs :D

I’m sure I forgot something but you get the idea.

Noynoy's first 30 sec commercial

I think it’s very creative! Aliw!!!!

I wonder who came up with this. I just learned that this isn’t an official commercial but a fan-made one. It won’t be shown on tv but was donated for web campaigns :)
