Boracay

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in General

Hmm I guess I forgot to mention last week that I’ll be going to Boracay. Whatevs since I’m back. I left last Saturday and got back Tuesday late afternoon. Boracay was okay. Sometimes fun but I wasn’t expecting much since this trip is just with old relatives (mom and some aunts). I didn’t do much swimming though. I went snorkling for an hour, maybe less. I tried to get a tan but I ended up with a sunburn.

We stayed at Fairways and Bluewater. It’s nice and sprawling but it’s far from the long beach. We got a 3-bedroom unit but there were only 4 of us so we had a lot of space to avoid each other. The bedrooms had a private bath, cable TV, and A/C. Bliss. The unit also has a kitchen, dining room, living room, and a balcony. We didn’t have a view of the ocean. Instead, the unit faced the golf course.

Fairways & Bluewater

Cable TV in Aklan in so unfair. They have WOWOW and other interesting channels. Living in Metro Manila sucks because I’m such a tv-holic. I want my WOWOW back. Grrr.

Wowow

I haven’t been back to Boracay for 7 years I think. So many things have changed there. They have D’Mall now. There’s even D’Talipapa. Then there are more resorts, the roads are better, the airport and the dock look decent now, etc. The prices have changed too. Used to be we can eat great seafood for cheap. The shops at D’Mall are expensive too. Presyong turista talaga. It’s just too bad that even us Manilenyos are also considered as turistas.

My sister told us to not come back to Manila unless we try the shakes at Jonah’s. Good advice from her. I totally loved the Banana Choco Peanut Shake. It’s so thick, it’s a challenge to sip. I asked the waitress if they have a branch in Manila but they don’t. It’s a Boracay exclusive. Bah.

Jonah's

I want to go back to Boracay someday but I prefer to go there with friends. Hanging out with the oldies just ain’t fun.

Malan Breton

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in General

Project Runway Season 3 is currently airing on Philippine cable. I think this season is more interesting than the last one. I don’t have a favorite designer yet but the character I really like got booted out. I like Malan Breton’s vision so I cried when his exit interview was shown. Awww.

Fashion Design School

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in Are We Not Femme?, General

I have been neglecting the blog again. Tsk. Anyway, things are good right now. My FIP classes are super fun. The lessons and exercises are hard but challenging. A bit nerve racking sometimes. But I’m really enjoying the experience. My basic fashion design instructor is a cutie. Too bad he’s gay. Ha ha. Never mind. He’s still an eye candy. I wasn’t expecting the lessons to be hard. Pattern Making has some math involved so I’m like duh most of the time. Fashion Design is also hard because I have to become familiar with the designers, fashion houses, history, etc. Basta mga fashion theories plus there’s the illustration part pa. Yoikes. I’m so out of practice when it comes to drawing. John Herrera, my fashion design instructor, gave us a lot of homeworks. I was given extra pa cos I said I was pasmado. He gave us sheets of intermediate pad paper and told us to copy the few lines he drew until we fill them up. He also told us to sketch a garment which represents us. Katakot! I have an idea na but it’s still scary.

We had a field trip for class. Well, sort of a field trip. John was asked to guest on GMA 7’s “Sis” and he asked us to go with him. We have to option to go or have extra exercises so I chose to go to the studio. We just sat there and watched. Boring. So I worked on some of the assignments. Pero it’s good that I still went there cos one of the dancers is a cutie. He looks like a high school kid. Just my type. Yak I’m a predator.

Cutie boy in Pink. Pakshet! He caught me taking this photo!!!

I’m dog-tired after every class. I really need to build up my stamina. Ang tanda ko na! The seats in FIP are so uncomfortable so most of the time I’m just standing up. It’s hard to describe the seats but basically they’re just stools which are quite high. Masakit sya sa pwet and legs. Basta nakakainis yung chairs.

My classes are only twice a week so I go to work on the other days. Well that’s the plan but I missed work Thursday and Friday cos of my aching body. Hopefully I will adjust soon so I can work.

10 Things To Ponder for 2007

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in General

10. Life is sexually transmitted.

9. Good health is merely the slowest rate at which one can die.

8. Men have two emotions: Hungry and Horny. If you see him without an erection, make him a sandwich.

7. Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to use the Internet and they won’t bother you for weeks.

6. Some people are like a slinky… not really good for anything, but you still can’t help but smile when you shove them down the stairs.

5. Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in the hospital dying of nothing.

4. All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

3. Why does a slight tax increase cost you two hundred dollars, and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents?

2. In the 60’s, people took LSD to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

AND THE NUMBER ONE THOUGHT FOR 2007:

We know exactly where one cow with mad-cow-disease is located among the millions and millions of cows in America, but we haven’t a clue as to where thousands of Illegal immigrants and Terrorists are located.
Maybe we should put the Department of Agriculture in charge of immigration.

What party?

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in General

I’ve been so out of touch with the blogging world, I wasn’t even aware that there was a Philippine bloggers’ party. Not that I will attend…but I might. Who knows?!

Work has been keeping me busy. That and selling stuff on ebay and multiply. As for social life, it’s pretty non-existent except for a get-together I organized at home for the depression mailing list I’m in. Other than that, nothing because I spend my weekends sleeping all day. I don’t really mind but that means I have nothing interesting to write here.

Lindsay Lohan’s Cuts

Posted by: User Imagedementia   in Celebrity Skin, General

I got this from A Socialite’s Life.

Lohan cutting

Hollywood is speculating if Lindsay Lohan is a cutter. I don’t know what to make of this. It’s possible that those wounds were caused by bushes or her run-ins with the paparazzi. It’s also possible that the pressure of being a celebrity is getting to her. Self-injury is a symptom of mental illness like depression so this is something serious. I hope she isn’t cutting herself eventhough I don’t really like her.
