Gokusen 3 Announced
Wednesday, March 5th, 2008Bah! I don’t remember much about Gokusen except that Jun Matsumoto was great in season 1 and I felt gypped when he didn’t appear in season 2 which I haven’t watched yet. According to Sugoi Stuff, there’s going to be a Gokusen 3.
NTV will roughen up its Spring drama showcase with the triquel of its popular school drama - Gokusen.
Nakama Yukie will reprise her role for the third time as Yamaguchi Kumiko a.k.a. Yankumi - the granddaughter of a Yakuza boss turned high school Math teacher.
About 600 young actors initially auditioned for the various roles that will comprise Gokusen 3’s unruly class. It was trimmed down to 300 for the interview. The following six would play the lead protagonists (or rather, Yankumi-antagonists):
From left to right: Takaki, Miura H., Ishiguro, Nakama, Kiriyama, and Miura S.
Takaki Yuya (of Hey! Say! JUMP) will play the lead. He will be joined by fellow JE boys Nakama Junta and Kiriyama Akito of the group, B.A.D..
The other three are Miura Haruma (as Shiraishi Ryo in Binbo Danshi), Ishiguro Hideo (as Yabuki Taku in Gokusen 2), and new comer Shohei Miura.
Gokusen is based on an equally popular manga of the same title and was created by Morimoto Kozueko .
Most likely I’ll eventually watch this but I still think the series went downhill when Jun left.
HYD Film Update
Monday, March 3rd, 2008I know. My blog updates are all about Hana Yori Dango these days. I will post about other stuff besides dorama soon but for now, here are some HYD news.
The crew finished filming in Las Vegas last Feb. 29 and are now back in Japan. They’ll continue filming there this month. There are also news about what the film will be about.
“HYD-F will be 4 years after HYD2…..Tsukasa & Tsukushi start to prepare their wedding.
Tsukasa made the annocement to the public (remember during Janurary, MatsuJun did the so-call “Press Conference” scene in Tokyo?!)
and the very expensive wedding tiara (it costs 10 billion yen) was stolen by an unknow man(i am betting it’s nahito).
Both Tsukushi & Tsukasa went to different places (hk, las vegas, etc) to get it back with help of F3.
Please correct me if my translation is incorrcet. I am just a Japanese beginner”.The original text as follows:

Hana Yori Dango: Korean Version
Monday, March 3rd, 2008
I’m not into Korean dramas but I am actually looking forward to this. I became a fan of Meteor Garden, then became an even bigger fan of Hana Yori Dango, so I think it’s safe to say that I’ll become a fan of the Korean version.
I don’t know what the title of the Korean one will be. There’s also no news on who’s going to play who. All I know is that it will be long (24 episodes at 70 minutes each) and that it will be produced by Group Eight.
For more info. go to this site. He mentioned several actors and actresses but I have no idea who they are.

HYD movie update
Wednesday, February 20th, 2008I found out from the Hana Yori Dango mailing list that there was a filming at Hong Kong! Lucky! I wish I was in Hong Kong during that time. I also wish they would film here! Boo hoo. The Hong Kong fans are so lucky!

Darn it! They look good together.
If I’m not mistaken, the cast is in Las Vegas right now. Fans in the US can watch the filming as long as they behave properly. *sigh*
Fuji TV is brilliant
Sunday, January 6th, 2008Back when I was watching season 1 of Hana Kimi and drooled over the boys, I was wondering why Ikuta Toma wasn’t included in the publicity photos of the dorama. Then I found out that his agency, Johnny’s Entertainment, didn’t allow the use of their talents’ images. I don’t know why but it’s really a stupid policy. Fuji TV found a great way to circumvent the policy with the publicity of the Honey and Clover dorama.

Ikuta Toma is the one on the far left. Notice the brushed effect on that side of the photo. Fuji TV used the paint effect and was able to elude copyright infringement lawsuits from JE. I lol’d when I saw the dorama’s website. See for yourself!

Ikuta Toma to star in Hachimitsu to Kuroba
Monday, November 26th, 2007Yay! I can’t wait for this dorama. I know nothing about Honey and Clover though. I got this from the Ikuta Toma lj community
Title: ??????????
Title (romaji): Hachimitsu to Kuroba
Also known as: Honey and Clover
Format: Renzoku
Genre: Romance, friendship
Broadcast network: Fuji TV
Broadcast period: 2008-Jan-08 to
Air time: Tuesday 21:00Synopsis
Honey and Clover follows the lives of five college students and their love triangles — Tokyograph (http://www.tokyograph.com/news/id-2019)Cast
Narumi Riko as Hanamoto Hagumi
Ikuta Toma as Takemoto YutaProduction Credits
Original writing: Umino Chika, Hachimitsu to Kuroba (manga)
Screenwriter: Kaneko Shigeki
Producer: Takiyama Madoka, Shikanai Tsugi
Director: Tanimura Masaki, Matsuyama Hiroaki——-
The screenplay is by the same guy who did Proposal Daisakusen, so you can expect it to be well written. The producers have done dramas like ProDai and First Kiss before this one. The first listed director also did Nodame Cantable, and the second, Liar Game.
As for the other girl in the cast, you know her as the younger sister in Ichi Rittoru no Namida, and quite a few other dramas.
But the most important thing is that TOMA IS IN IT! *squee fest* (I literally started jumping up and down and racing all over the house in delight ^-^) Next winter will be a good one!
Y?ta Takemoto (?? ??, Takemoto Y?ta?)Aged 19 (at the beginning of the series), Y?ta Takemoto is a second-year student at the art college. He is from Annaka city, Gunma-ken. He lives in the same apartment complex as Mayama and Morita in room 202. His floormates are Morita and Hasegawa.
Takemoto is one of the more mellow characters in the series. He falls in love with Hagu immediately after being introduced by his professor but keeps his feelings to himself throughout most of the series. His love for Hagu and his inability to act upon his feelings as freely as Morita causes some internal problems for Takemoto. For example, when Hagu received a bird brooch that was made for her as an anonymous present, Takemoto couldn’t bring himself to say that Morita was the one who had made it for her. Instead of acting on his feelings, Takemoto decides to be more of a brother figure to Hagu, giving her friendly support when needed. For example, Takemoto accepts Hagu’s requests to build her sophisticated dollhouses and the like. Takemoto is very close to her.
Episodes are often narrated from Takemoto’s point of view. At first he questions why he is in art school and feels that he is not good at anything but he gradually matures and becomes comfortable with himself. The greatest change in his character comes after he spends days riding on a bicycle all the way to the Northernmost point in Japan. After this he feels that he can tell Hagu how he really feels and stand up to Shinobu.
Hana Yori Danga Movie Update
Friday, October 12th, 2007Here’s an update on the Hana Yori Dango movie.
“After two television series, the live-action adaptation of Yoko Kamio’s Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers) manga will end with the Hana Yori Dango: Final theatrical movie, which will screen in summer of 2008 in Japan.”
No more season 3 :(
“The series stars Mao Inoue, Jun Matsumoto, Shota Matsuda, Shun Oguri, and Tsuyoshi Abe will all reprise their roles as Tsukushi, Tsukasa, Sojiro, Rui, and Akira, respectively. The movie will also feature special guest stars. The series’ chief director Yasuhara Ishii will start the two-month shoot in January and include overseas locations. Kamio is currently developing the story with the series scriptwriter, Mikio Satake (the penname of actor Takayuki Takuma).”
Guest star Ikuta Toma please! I wonder what the story will be. Anyway, read the entire article here.
