Friday FUN

Sunday, August 12th, 2007

I’m pining for a Nintendo Wii. It’s not too expensive but I still have a long way to go before I can save up for one. Maybe I can ask mom to give me one for my birthday.

I was in Serendra and Bonifacio High Street last Friday with Phoebe. We had supper at Zao which is a Vietnamese restaurant beside Conti’s. The food is good but expensive. Ugh. Spend spend spend. Jenny caught up with us as we were about to finish eating. After paying the bill, we headed to Fully Booked. I wanted to go just to buy Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban which I thought I already have. I’m reading all the books in the series now and when I read that book, I remembered that I only borrowed my friend’s copy.

So anyway, we were at Fully Booked and I went to the manga section. I was looking for guro manga even if I doubt that FB sells them. Well they don’t. But what I saw made me shout out to my friends. They have NANA! I guess a lot of people buy the series since only volumes 1, 3, and 6 were there. So I got those three volumes and mulled over buying The Drifting Classroom series. I decided that could wait so I went to the second level to get the Harry Potter book. It was in the sci-fi section so when I was checking out the other books, I was astonished to find Francesca Lia Block titles. Some of them I still don’t have in my collection. So I got the following:

  • Psyche In A Dress
  • Ruby: A Novel
  • Wasteland

We hung out at the Starbucks (but didn’t buy anything) until FB closed then we headed to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Until that, too, closed.  I think that was around 1:30 AM.

We left Serendra then headed to my house where Phoebe left her car. She wanted to see Yasu so when we got there, we went to my room and babbled some more. Phoebe has the newest Canon camera (not sure if it’s an ixus) and it has a cool feature which takes 10 shots using its timer. We had fun posing and goofing around. We were noisy and the racket we made woke up mom. It was really fun though. They left around 4 AM.

New ipod

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

I forgot to mention that I went on a spending spree last Saturday and bought a new ipod to replace my broken one. I got it on 0% installment for 12 months. It might have been a wrong decision but I like this new ipod since it’s colored and can store 80 gb worth or music. The busted one was just 30 gb and was black and white. It was more expensive than the new one actually. I guess the prices of ipods really dropped since the iphone got released.

I’ve been spending too much lately. Just today, I bought a UPS for my G4 and a 1 gb thumb drive. The UPS is necessary spending though since the old one doesn’t work anymore and electricity is so unstable in the country. I also need it for the weekend since I’ll be editing an AVP. I think I’ll be able to get a return for that investment soon. Hopefully.

What is unnecessary  are my Yahoo Japan expenses. I think I racked up close to 10 thousand Pesos for toys. Eek! I bought more Nyan Nyan Nyanko plushies and clothes for my BJD. At least I didn’t win the Pullip doll I wanted.

My New Boyfriend

I took the plunge. I hope I won’t regret it in the end.

BJD’s

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

I want to buy Dollfies ball-jointed dolls instead of Pullips after I saw him.

He’s so dreamy! I want to have one badly! He’s a dollfie BJD made by Dollmore and he sells for $627. Too fucking expensive!!! He’s huge though. Around 73 cms.

Here’s another one I want.

He’s “Amos”. Not as cute as Kyle Reese but I think he’s so cool. A bit cheaper at $550 but still expensive. He’s shorter too, 62 cm in height.

I really want a dollfie BJD now. He’ll be my substitute boyfriend. Hmmp. I’ll save up for one. I need to save up before the month ends because Dollmore is offering free shipping but only for this month.

R.I.P. Ipod

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007

Fuck! My ipod is officially dead. I thought I was able to somehow resurrect it by defragging the drive. That worked for a while but not anymore. Sad. I reformatted everything, thereby erasing all the songs, in the hopes that the fuck would work. It didn’t. So goodbye mp MP3 collections. Goodbye my 3-year old ipod. It was good while it lasted.

Now I have to save up again to buy a new one :(

Holy Week

Friday, April 6th, 2007

It’s Holy Week in the Philippines and most of the country is calm and quiet. Well that’s what I think because I’m stuck at home since the family decided to just stay here to avoid expenses since we’re saving up for a trip to Thailand this May. I don’t really mind staying at home since there’s always cable TV, internet, and DVDs for entertainment.

I invited some friends from the depression mailing list to an overnight stay in Fontana (Clark) but there were only 4 of us plus the driver. I had fun anyway. I loved the buffet dinner we had, our viewing of Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, and story telling until 6 am the next day. My friends went for a swim but I just slept. I prefer sleeping and I needed it. I think they had fun. At least I hope they did.

I still have fun during our classes in Fashion Institute of the Philippines. The teachers are great and very nice although they love to gossip about people in the industry. Scary. What would they say about me WHEN I become famous. Ha! Anyway, John gives us lots of homeworks so I have to do that during the vacation.

I need to make money. Lots of money. I want to buy stuff I can sell from Thailand. I’m selling some of my beloved books out of desperation. The price is quite high so I still haven’t sold a single book. Boo. How come the resale value of once-read books so low? Is it the same in other countries? I mean, I spent a lot of money for those books and they’re still in great condition. So how come there are no takers?!

Hmm it’s late. I was planning to watch DVDs but I’m sleepy now. Tsk.

Materialism

Still depressed but what can I do? Anyway, I want this lomo. Too fucking expensive though.

I couldn’t even afford a regular lomo.

I want to promote my friend’s store. She makes awesome accessories. I just got this from her.

Injury, Nostalgia, and Obsession

Friday, January 26th, 2007

Nothing much to write about. I’ve been badly neglecting this blog. Tsk. I’ll try to write more often but nothing much is happening in my life. At least nothing interesting to write about.

Anyhoooo, I hurt my right arm last Monday so I was in pain for several days. I’m not sure what really caused it but I suspect it’s my ridiculously heavy bag. I bring it everywhere with me and it’s messy inside as hell. I’m not even sure what’s inside anymore. The contents as I recall:

  • Small Moleskine notebook (yeah, I’m pretentious)
  • Hairbrush
  • Long wallet heavy with coins, not paper bills
  • Small wallet (the Anna Sui I won from yahoo japan!) with emergency money and some credit cards
  • Benefit Glamourette
  • Parker pen for more pretention
  • A regular gel pen
  • Valda Pastilles
  • Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer
  • Foldable fan
  • Numerous lipsticks
  • Jim Thompson mirror I bought from my trip in Thailand
  • My small Nanette Lepore perfume
  • Small bottle of Tylenol
  • My cellphone
  • Anna Sui sunglasses with case

I think that’s it. Not much so much so I have no idea why it’s so heavy. My mom has more stuff in her bag but it’s not as heavy as mine. I’m sure it’s not the bag itself cos whatever bag I use regardless of material and weight, the whole thing is just heavier than normal.

My arm is kinda okay now after having it massaged by a professional masseuse but now my left arm is beginning to act up. Ugh.

I was watching tv last night, I think it was an E! Entertainment show, and it was mentioned that Heathers 2 is in the works. Hurray! I loved Heathers and I can’t wait for this sequel. According to Entertainment Wise, Christian Slater and Wynona Rider have already signed up for the movie. Also, the original director, Daniel Walters, is writing the script and might even direct it. Great. I just hope the film wouldn’t suck as most sequels do. I want to have a copy of Heathers DVD but I have too many DVDs here which I haven’t watched yet.

I’m selling a lot of cute stuff on my online shop. Right now I’m accepting pre-orders for the cell phone accessories. They’re all from Japan and oh so cute! The deadline is on February 10 for pre-orders. Visit the shop at misseerie.multiply.com and add me if you have Multiply. I know my price is expensive but shipping and customs will be a killer. BTW, my stuff are only for Philippine buyers only. Sorry, my online foreign friends. I’m still selling stuff on ebay.ph and the sales are pretty good. Nice hobby, eh?

Gloomy Bear

I’m pining for a Gloomy Bear plushie. I would even settle for knock-offs but of course, I prefer the original ones from Japan. Damn obsessions! I know that buying one is a waste of money but I love it! My friend used to sell knock-off plushies but his store has closed already. Too bad for me. Boo!

Coffin Conversations

Saturday, December 23rd, 2006

After writing that post about not making money from blogging, I googled for ways to actually make money from blogging. That’s how I found out about Orble. It’s a blogging community with LOTS of ads. An Orble member can have several blogs but I only needed one. Everytime a member makes a post to his blog, other members can vote to show that they liked the post. I guess that makes the blog popular or something. I don’t really know. The Orble management keeps track of the traffic all blogs receive. If a particular blog has good potential and the content is good, they offer the member his own domain name for the blog. This ordinarily takes 2 to 3 weeks after the first post.
I started with Coffin Talk where I just posted about things which I find interesting (guro, Japanese wackiness, etc.). My first post was December 4 and I tried to post everyday. I just kept on posting and I even reposted my article on how not to make money from blogging and that drew a lot of attention from the community. I received a lot of votes and some comments. I guess that’s the turning point of my orble blog. Since then, I received regular readers. They don’t comment but it doesn’t matter. They still voted. And the blog’s traffic attracted the attention of the Orble team. One week after I started posting, I was notified by the management that they want to buy a domain for my blog. Yay me! I’m a rising star. LOL. Since coffintalk.com is already taken, she suggested that I use coffinconversations.com instead. I agreed and there’s nothing to lose anyway. If my readers click on the ads in my blog, I get half of the profit and the other half goes to Orble. I guess that’s fine. So if you want to check out my other blog, please try to click on an ad. Hehehe. Money is nice. I’m still transferring the coffin talk posts to the new blog. Hopefully I will finish soon so I can make fresh entries.
