Last weekend, the highly anticipated “Hana Yori Dango Final” opened on 400 screens. In its first five days, it was watched by approximately 1.35 million people, grossing more than 1.6 billion yen. This puts it roughly on par with last year’s “HERO,” which went on to take in a total of 8 billion yen.

As a way of showing appreciation for the fans, starring actress Mao Inoue and F4 (Jun Matsumoto, Shun Oguri, Shota Matsuda, Tsuyoshi Abe) will be flying to various cities in a private jet next weekend. The plane is a Boeing 737-500 (which can normally seat about 130 passengers). They will visit Sapporo, Nagoya, and Fukuoka on July 12, then Osaka and Tokyo on July 13. The total trip amounts to 4,660 kilometers.

Chartering a jet for a publicity campaign is said to have never been done before for a Japanese film.

I wish I’m in Japan watching the screening of Hana Yori Dango Final. I haven’t read any reviews about it but even if fans end up hating it, I’ll watch the movie. I wonder when it will be available on DVD and subbed!

I know. My blog updates are all about Hana Yori Dango these days. I will post about other stuff besides dorama soon but for now, here are some HYD news.

The crew finished filming in Las Vegas last Feb. 29 and are now back in Japan. They’ll continue filming there this month. There are also news about what the film will be about.

“HYD-F will be 4 years after HYD2…..Tsukasa & Tsukushi start to prepare their wedding.
Tsukasa made the annocement to the public (remember during Janurary, MatsuJun did the so-call “Press Conference” scene in Tokyo?!)
and the very expensive wedding tiara (it costs 10 billion yen) was stolen by an unknow man(i am betting it’s nahito).
Both Tsukushi & Tsukasa went to different places (hk, las vegas, etc) to get it back with help of F3.
Please correct me if my translation is incorrcet. I am just a Japanese beginner”.
