Sourgraping about Sony Ericsson

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Just let me rant for a bit here. I feel left out that I didn’t get an invite for the “secret” Sony Ericsson thingy where almost all of Filipino bloggers I know got a free SE phone. I’m no problogger (even if I have some side projects where I’m trying to earn from blogging) but I’ve been blogging since the late 90′s. This blog alone is already 4-years old. Given I’m not popular in the Filipino blog scene and I hardly go to blog events (I seldom get invites anyway), I’m a Sony Ericsson fan since the T68i came out. Ever since then, I’ve gone through several Sony Ericsson phones. Even my current one, a P1i, is made by them. Heck, I’ve blogged about SE phones here and in my past blogs. I don’t know why I didn’t get invited but I somehow feel that it’s a confirmation that my blog is nothing to the Pinoy blogosphere. I feel bitter sometimes when I see my friends use their free SE phones. I’m human, I get gadget envy, and damn the phone looks really nice. Maybe this is what I get for having a nonsense blog. In spite of the bad feeling, I’m still a fan and I won’t let this silly thing affect my phone choice decisions but bext time I see any of my friends use the phone they got from the event, I’ll just close my eyes and try to think of more pleasant things.

Shopping for this girl

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Shopping for myself. That’s what I did yesterday afternoon. I went for a quick urinalysis (orders of by OB Gyne) then went to a nearby sale by a factory outlet of Dr. Martens. I was able to find a nice mary janes my size and bought it for 2,200 pesos. Still expensive but Doc Martens are expensive. From there, I went to Robinson’s Galleria because the Smart Wireless Center there is cozier than Shangri-la’s. My Plan 800 expired October last year and since I have no plans of switching, I got their retention plan. Because of the retention plan, I was able to buy a discounted Sony Ericsson P1i for 12,000 pesos. I think the current market value of the unit is 17K so it’s still a good deal. Actually I wasn’t expecting that I will be able to take home the unit today but my papers got processed fast.

Where did I get my money for all these? Since mom began helping me organize the payment of my credit card debts, I was able to save a lot of salary money. I still don’t know how she did it but it’s working great.

So yeah, new phone and new shoes. I’m happy again but how long will that last?

I Have To Buy This

am_phone.jpg

Sony Ericsson will be releasing R306 Radio in the 3rd quarter of this year. It’s not just any other C.P. with built-in radio. It has AM!!!!1! I think FM radio in the Philippines is crap so I only listen to AM. I’m so tres cool. LOL. The phone is targeted for old people, at least that’s what the comments say here. It’s also a low budget phone so that’s even better.
